LUX Oh I agree anything might happen, but (on current form) Monaco should make light work of City.

I'm kind of glad City didn't go through. You know Leicester would've ended up drawing them and going out in a massive anti-climax.

I would agree with that. City should come out of their slump, plus reinforcements could come in during Jan.

I suppose it wasn't light work, but over the two legs Monaco were far better.

It's gr8 that the only English team left is the non-glory boy team. Plus Chelsea and Man U didn't even qualify.

Yep, fair play to Monaco. Totally deserved it.

Both teams a total shambles at the back. All City had to do was not concede twice so Pep leaves one of their more solid players on the bench

I suspect Man City will spend in excess of £160m this summer again.

Could be expensive if all 40 come up in the ballot though. I don't think you can cancel tickets you don't want (although you could flog them, I suppose)

Should the PL have 4 places?......English clubs have been massively rubbish for years now.

Not that far off it now tbh. We are only 2.5 points ahead of Italy in the coefficient ranking and are due to lose 2 more points than them at the end of the season.

http://www.worldfootball.net/uefa_country_coefficients/

Can't be arsed to work out how many points us and Italy have got so far this season as you get points awarded for every match won but we have been quite sh*t. If Juve won the CL and Leicester & MU both lost their next games and went out things could be interesting

It is only current + 4 previous seasons that decide whether you are good enough to get x amount of places.

14/15 season Italy got a load more points than us. if you just count the last 3 seasons points then Italy are running ahead of us. If we don't start outperforming them in European comps then in 2 years they will get 4 places and we will get 3

I don't think it'll happen. We're on a bit of downturn in European form but we have some top coaches in the Prem now - and I'll think we'll come good just in time.

There was a rather neat diagram of countries in the quarter finals - English involvement markedly drops after c. 2009.

And in any case, UEFA have a method for tracking it that also includes everywhere else.

In 2011-12, England was top of this table. They are now third.

Juve 3 - 0 Barca

I suspect Barca will do enough diving to get through in the next leg..
