Carlisle are 2 points clear in 7th but have been sinking like a stone since Christmas so there's 3 points separating 8th-14th.

Today's permut8ions

Brighton will be promoted if they beat Wigan and Huddersfield fail to beat Derby

If Fleetwood and Bradford lose today, Bolton will be promoted if they beat Bury tomorrow
Chesterfield will be releg8ed if they don't beat Scunthorpe

Plymouth will be promoted with a result against Newport - could even be promoted with a loss if Luton fail to beat Mansfield
Portsmouth will be promoted with a win against Notts County and Luton fail to beat Mansfield
Leyton Orient need to beat Hartlepool otherwise they are down

Pepe the Horseman Ha. It's a big ask, but 40/1 is too tempting.

Well, that's that bet fcuked at the first hurdle.

At the bottom of the Championship Rotherham have long gone, Wigan really are just waiting for the inevitable while Birmingham are looking decidedly dodgy.

Their last 3 games are...

Aston Villa (a)
Huddersfield Town (h)
Bristol City (a)

Forest have

Reading (h)
QPR (a)
Ipswich (h)

Blackburn face

Wolves (a)
Aston Villa (h)
Brentford (a)

And for completion

Bristol City

Barnsley (h)
Brighton (a)
Birmingham (h)

Burton

Leeds (h)
Barnsley (a)
Reading (h)

I fancy Blackburn to get out of it, and I reckon it'll be Forest to drop, narrowly behind Birmingham.

Our FD at work is a Forest fan and before the Easter break, he was confident of staying up.

He isn't in today, so I haven't been able to ask him if he is as confident now

Bolton screw up last night and are now just 2 points ahead of 3rd place with 2 to play.

Bury's draw means swindon go to 3 points from safety and a worse goal difference by 4 with 2 left to play

Reaaaaaallllyyyyyy hoping Fleetwood go up (50 on them start of season to get promotion)...... something mental like 7 promotions in 14 years they have I think? What a story.

How can any of us want a team managed by Parky, with ALF upfront and Karacan in the middle of the park not to go up?!

It's very easy when the team in question is Bolton.

For some it's 1995, for me it's the decade of anti-football under Allardyce, the fcuking gimp flag waving bollocks they used to do before each game, the shitty drummers who sounded like an angry wasp in a jar, their shitty stadium which is 10 times worse than the Madejski, their gormless arse scratching, finger sniffing Northern Monkey fans and all the "what a well run club, proving you can punch above its weight in the Premiership" bullshit that went with it when in reality each season they were just rolling the financial dice and praying it came up Double 6.

Oh, and they're from Bolton which is such a shithole, it makes Wigan look like Las Vegas.

Hartlepool drop into the relegation zone in League 2. With Orient already gone, could see 2 clubs with over 100 years history in the league drop out.

Lincoln confirmed their promotion back to the league at the weekend.

Play-offs will be between Tranmere, Forest Green, Dagenham & Redbridge and one of Aldershot/Dover. If Dover lose tomorrow, Sh!ts are in.

Race for the play-offs in L2 are crazy. 2 games to go and only 6 pts separate Blackpool in 6th from Grimsby in 14th. 8th through 10th all on 65 points, just one point behind Stevenage in 7th.

Wycombe Vs Cambridge could be the one to look for on the last day depending on what happens this weekend first

RE: Hartlepool

Normally I'm a big fan of Jeff Stelling but I wasn't sure about his tirade calling for the manager's head on live TV on Saturday. I get that he's a real and passionate fan and I admire that, but if he's the club president then at least have a meeting with the board in private.

Made for good TV though
