Er... Everton away?

You can’t compare the two

On the one today, was probably a red card but I wouldn’t have given it just because of how Rudiger reacted. It’s just quite sad and pathetic how footballers act these days, they spend more time on the floor than anything else. Just ruining a good game

Those are 2 different points.
I don't disagree that the way players act is spoiling the game-they argue (rightly or wrongly) that they need to exaggerate an incident to make sure that the ref sees a foul.
When players stay on their feet they often don't get a free kick when they have been the victim of a foul.

What Son did was petulant, in the way that the idiot Beckham did the same and arguably cost us any chance of success back whenever it was.
The petulance and intent were well worth a red card.
Rudiger then doubly suffered, firstly from whatever (minor?) pain there was and secondly because he was then apparently racially abused.

Not a great afternoon all round on a day when Chelsea's football was to be admired but the level of performance will now get lost.

This is a good last point. I’m sick and tired of seeing racism be the main talking point, overshadowing the focus on the pitch. You’re giving the morons the limelight this way, giving them the attention they want

Not trying to be funny but there’s no way the game ever can eradicate racism. Deal with matters internally rather than broadcasting it to the entire world every single time

Decision.

The sort of nothing event slow motion makes look worse and yet still appears to be absolutely nothing in it.

And here we go again...
Decision for the penalty is correct if judged against the Michael Keane incident at Brighton (?), despite the Amazon commentary team completely missing the contact on the foot.
Then encroachment causing a retake.

Jim Beglin giving a good impression of someone who doesn’t know the current laws and keeps looking at the wrong piece of action

Sorry, that’s not a penalty in the slightest

It’s simple. If a player exaggerates contact, they shouldn’t give it. Mahrez went down like he’s been shot. Therefore, shouldn’t be given

Wish this utterly dreadful technology would disappear up it’s own fibre optic cable.

It’s every teams dream to get to the EPL but right now with VAR I’m not sure, dread the days they’ll bring it down to lower leagues

As I said, if the Keane one at Brighton was a penalty, then so was this.
Apparently, the boots players wear now give little to no protection, so when you’re stood on it hurts (allegedly)

Players are such wimps, in general, and in the Premier League in particular

Remember the Keane one being bad but don’t remember exactly what it was for. Was it the one against Brighton?

If someone stands on your foot when you are running that is EXACTLY the normal way you would go down.

It was exactly the same as tonight’s. I don’t think either should be a penalty, but once you give one ...

And again ...

How the hell is Pukki deemed to be offside ?

Let alone the ridiculous commentary that suggested it was because he’d come back from an offside position earlier in the move

Thing is, the “coming back from offside position” seemed to be what the ref signalled when he overturned the goal.

Yet another poor outcome from a VAR review. Not saying it is wrong because that’s what the technology reports but it’s just so bad for the game when it is that tight and there is no margin for error built into it.

It’s all gotten a bit out of hand imho

Your team scores....they celebrate....you celebrate....dreams are created....normality is restored....then the goal is chalked off.

The $ky generation game

Bin it.....just leave us with the goal line technology and the ‘referees decision being final’ (which it obviously isn’t right now)

The biggest problem with today’s is the distance the ball had already travelled in the image Sky showed as ‘proof’ of offside. That’s clearly too late as the ball had been played a millisecond earlier. Might have made all the difference to the two millimetres Pukki was offside

what's the margin of error going to be? Something subjective?
