Really hoping Brighton can lose to Newcastle so there is something to play for in the final games at the bottom of the PL after Cardiff’s failure at Fulham

Rotherham now relegated. Officially and mathematically.

Yeovil relegated to the National League, Macclesfield just have to avoid losing at home to Cambridge next week to condemn Notts County to the realms of non league (unless County can win by 7 at Swindon in which case Macclesfield will have to win).

League 1 and 2 are just nuts. :D

4 teams all on 67 outside the league 2 playoffs

Luton seemingly champions a couple of weeks back. Now they may have ballsed it up massively.

Sunderland draw their 19th game of the season.

And Rotherham relegated

League 1 is just as messy at the bottom as well. Brilliant for the game.

Lower division FL stuff to play for.

League 1/Division 3

Top of the table.

Luton and Barnsley both need 3 points to ensure promotion. Would say both are strong favourites to achieve this.

Portsmouth have to win both their games to have a chance of automatic

Sunderland have more or less blown their chance of automatic. There is still a very small chance but a lot of results have to go their way.

Charlton definitely in the play offs and most likely will finish 5th (and probably end up playing Sunderland).

Doncaster look odds on for 6th place but could lose out to Peterborough if Peterborough can win both of their remaining games

Coventry are mathematically still in with a shout but GD makes it unlikely even with a trip to Doncaster on the final day

Bottom of the table.

Bradford dead and buried.

Three to go with them from Scunthorpe, Walsall, Plymouth, Wimbledon, Southend, Wycombe and Shrewsbury.

Remaining games

Monday

Coventry v Shrewsbury

Tuesday

Fleetwood v Sunderland
Portsmouth v Peterborough

Saturday (ridiculously all kicking off at 5.30pm)

Blackpool v Gillingham
Bradford v Wimbledon
Bristol R v Barnsley
Charlton v Rochdale
Doncaster v Coventry
Luton v *xf*rd
Peterborough v Burton
Plymouth v Scunthorpe
Portsmouth v Accrington
Shrewsbury v Walsall
Southend v Sunderland
Wycombe v Fleetwood

League 2/Division 4

Lincoln up.

Other automatic promotion places will go to 2 from Bury, MK Dons and Mansfield. Bury have a game in hand and just need a point to be sure of promotion as Mansfield travel to MK Dons in the final day and also will just need a point to clinch promotion.

Forest Green and Tranmere are definitely in the play offs while the remaining place is between Newport (who will be favourites if they win their game in hand), Exeter, Colchester, Carlisle and Stevenage.

At the bottom Yeovil are down already while Notts County basically will have to win at Swindon and hope Macclesfield lose at home to Cambridge to survive given the GD swing needed.

Remaining games

Tuesday

Newport v Oldham
Tranmere v Bury

Saturday (all 3pm)

Bury v Port Vale
Crawley v Tranmere
Forest Green v Exeter
Grimsby v Crewe
Lincoln v Colchester
Macclesfield v Cambridge
MK Dons v Mansfield
Morecambe v Newport
Oldham v Northampton
Stevenage v Cheltenham
Swindon v Notts County
Yeovil v Carlisle

At the moment Brighton are losing 1-0 at home to Newcastle

Even if Brighton do lose though everything is more or less settled relegation wise as Cardiff losing to Fulham today essentially means they need 4 points from their remaining 2 games to have a decent chance of survival given that Brighton’s last 2 games are a trip to Arsenal and a visit from ManC. However as Cardiff’s last game is a trip to Old Trafford the chances of overriding the massive GD advantage of Brighton (13) and staying up are more than a little remote. Mind you Brighton still have to play ManC so a very severe reduction in that GD might be on the cards.

Brighton made up for an appalling first-half display by scoring their first goal in over 12 hours of football.

Plymouth having a mad season

Last year they were bottom at Xmas then went on a massive streak that nearly got them promotion
This year, sat in relegation again, went on a massive streak, but now in monumental free fall down into relegation at totally the wrong time

Shame, have always wanted Plymouth to do well

Should be ok though considering their final game is at home to the equally abject Scunthorpe. Now that (and Shrewsbury v Walsall) is a game that might actually be worth watching....

Reckon Walsall, Scunthorpe and Southend will join Bradford in relegation.

Sad to see Yeovil relegated from the FL, wasn't long ago that we were on the terraces of Huish Park watching Alfie put home a spot kick.
Hope they make it back up, kinda puts our last few years in perspective :?

They haven't gone yet, but clear favourites to do so. Final day often sees funny things happen.

I know, but I am resigned to it.

I grew up in Nottinghamshire, and while I wasn't into football - didn't even realise how big a deal ma being friends with Babs Clough was- Notts County were, locally at least, the more prestigious club- Forest the upstarts, and Mansfield the also rans.

League One is going to be a spectacular final day, at the bottom at least - five teams still battling to avoid two relegation places alongside Bradford, and two of them play each other.

Bradford v AFC Wimbledon
Southend v Sunderland
Plymouth v Scunthorpe
Shrewsbury v Walsall

Loads of permutations, including that Scunthorpe could beat Plymouth and still go down on goal difference if Southend and Walsall both win. Plymouth have been in freefall, losing five in a row and conceding 15 goals, but could even stay up with a draw if Walsall fail to win.

Everything else is resolved, Luton and Barnsley promoted, play-offs will be Portsmouth, Sunderland, Charlton and Doncaster, who are guaranteed to finish sixth but are 15 points behind fifth spot. Charlton could yet come just fifth with 88 points.

Luton and Barnsley aren't up yet, and Peterborough could still pip Donny for 6th

League Two we have a three-team race for two spots behind promoted Lincoln, albeit Bury in second have a game in hand at sixth-placed Tranmere tomorrow night (postponed at the weekend for a waterlogged pitch) and could secure promotion with a win. Mansfield (third) go to MK Dons (fourth) on what will be one of the games of the final day, winner takes all for promotion, albeit a draw sends Mansfield up on goal difference. Forest Green and Tranmere should be good for the play-offs, and will be joined by one of five teams below them separated by two points:

Forest Green v Exeter (69)
Lincoln v Colchester (67)
Yeovil v Carlisle (67)
Stevenage (67) v Cheltenham
Morecambe v Newport (67)

Macclesfield's win at Port Vale nearly completes an incredible turnaround under Sol Campbell. Notts County need to win at Swindon on the final day and hope that Macclesfield get nothing from their home game with Cambridge.
