LUX Enjoying BHA’s unstoppable slide.

Losing 2-0 at home to Cardiff, five minutes left. Tough run-in

I like Brighton having lived there and have some good friends who are fans. They have uniformly given up on this season and expect relegation now.

Speaking to one of them after the game last night, he sees them managing 1 more point from a draw v Newcastle - if Cardiff can pick up 4 points from Palace & Fulham then Brighton are done.

It would be funny for those noveau fans at Falmer to taste some failure but anyone who doesn't want Cardiff relegated just doesn't get it

Genuinely feel bad for Aldershot, Conference South is so far from where they expect to be.

Hoping Wimbledon and Hungerford avoid the drop, as far as promotion is concerned happy for Orient/Solihull in the NL and wouldn't mind Pompey coming up tbh

Bradford have been an utter shambles since the current owner bought the club.

Then again, when they got to the League Cup final, they paid the previous owner back the money he had loaned the club and as a result, were unable to pay the players.

Things starting to look a lot clearer now after the games over the Easter Weekend:

Premier League

Title still anyone's guess - City play their game in hand at United tomorrow night - would expect an away win but will be interesting to see if the Utd players have it in them to bounce back.

Chelsea's draw at home to Burnley moves them back into the last CL spot by 1 point but have played a game more than Arsenal and Man Utd. Arsenal can jump back up to 4th with a point v Wolves. It's away though, so they'll probably lose.

At the bottom, Cardiff now 3 adrift of Brighton - If Brighton can somehow win their game in hand at Spurs tonight, that will essentially be it you would think. Cardiff still probably need to win 2 of the last 3 to stand a realistic chance

Championship

Norwich need 1pt from their last 2 to be promoted.

Sheffield United can all but secure promotion with a home win V Ipswich on Saturday

Leeds 2 defeats this weekend all but condemns them to the play-offs, where they will definitely be joined by WBA & Villa.

Final play-off spot between Derby, Boro & Bristol City. Bristol City host Derby this weekend.

At the bottom, realistically only 2 left in it now (I know we could still drop but we won't) - Millwall's 43pts is probably already enough given Rotherham have lost 3 of the last 4 and not won in 5.

Bolton were relegated on Good Friday.

League 1

Luton can go 5 clear tonight if they beat Wimbledon - not quite enough to go up yet but will be a matter of time.

Barnsley favourites for 2nd spot despite Pompey and Sunderland having a game in hand. This is because the latter 2 meet at the Stadium of Light on Saturday. Sunderland letting 2 points slip yesterday essentially left them looking at the play-offs.

Charlton's defeat at Oxford on Friday ends their automatic promotion hopes but they have been guarntees a play-off spot for a while now.

Last PO Spot between Doncaster and Peterborough - a Doncaster win tonight V Accrington will see them open a 6 point gap - Peterborough have 3 to play incl Pompey (a)

At the bottom: Bradford gone, Walsall really need to win both remaining games to stand any chance. The final 2 spots realistically between Wimbledon, Scunthorpe, Plymouth, Southend & Accrington - whilst Wycombe, Shrewsbury and Bristol Rovers all sit just 4 points clear, will take something extrordinary for them to go.

League 2

Lincoln are Champions

Final 2 spots between Bury, Mansfield, MK, Forest Green & Tranmere. Games of note: Tranmere V Bury on Saturday & MK Dons V Mansfield on the last day.

As you would expect given how close the auto race is all those listed above are guaranteed a play-off spot at worst.

The fight for the final play-off spot is now a 6 team battle royale. Exeter currently sit in 7th but just 2 points clear of Colchester, Carlisle, Stevenage & Newport. Oldham sit 2 points further back with a game in hand. Oldham are in great form since Scholes left - their next 2 games are Exeter & Newport. Going to be a very tense last week with over half the division in with a shout of the play-offs (you could add Crewe and Swindon to the list but I think they are just a little too far back).

At the bottom - as you were. Bottom 3 all drew, so Macclesfield stay out of the drop zone and have the most favourable run as they play the teams in 20th and 21st.

National League

Leyton Orient's draw at Solihull together with a Salford home defeat to Fylde means they need just a point from their final game to return to the League but even a defeat should seem them up bar a Goal Difference swing of 5 in Salford's favour or 8 in Solihull's.

All the play-off places are now secure with Eastleigh, Harrogate, Wrexham & Fylde joined by whichever 2 of Orient/Salford/Solihull don't end up Champions this week.

LOL @Steve Bruce for arguing that Norwich's late, late goal on Friday was about the referee not doing his job.
He seems to be suffering memory loss about when the ref allowed Man Utd as long as they wanted for them to score in added time at Steve Bruce's current home to help win the title.
Who scored for Man Utd that day, yes the same Steve Bruce.

Steve "ex-manager of Wigan who thinks penalties shouldn't be given at the end of important playoff games" Bruce not happy when things go against him. I am shocked.

Stranded League 1

Absolutely fascinating stuff at the bottom of League One and it's all set up for a rollercoaster final day. Wimbledon did themselves the world of good with a 93rd min equaliser last night.

I just have a funny feeling we're inching towards another 'Agueeeerrrrroooooo!' moment on the last day in the Premier League - City and Liverpool winning their next three or four, and then something happening late at either the Etihad (City host Brendan Rodger's Leicester) or Anfield (Liverpool play top six-troublers Wolves).

I too think there is a twist in the tale to come.

Either City win tonight, everyone assumes they are champions but they slip up on another game, or City lose tonight, Liverpool think they are on track to be champions but they slip up on one of their last games.
