Old Man Andrews Really want the replay as I think it will make Klopp spontaneously combust with rage.

Why, Liverpool are a huge club and the best in the country, surely you've got to respect that and support their success

it Seems that the PL wrote to member clubs last year asking them to respect the “winter break” and not to arrange friendlies or competitive fixtures during the period.

So along comes the FA and their cup competition and hey presto several PL clubs now have to arrange competitive games :lol:

Jurgen Klopp has already said that he intends to respect the PL’s request and won’t be taking the team for Liverpool’s replay with the Shrews. Wonder if Newcastle etc. will have the same ethic?

Don't think the natives up at Newcastle will allow this to happen. They have a great chance to progress if they play a semi decent team at Oxford.

For me, the only reason why you would want Championship clubs to do well is;

a) it is more fixtures for them in the season, which would help Reading in the league games

or

b) they knock out Premier League teams, thus allowing an 'easier' route for Reading or an unfancied team.

I just like an underdog story.
Reading hasn't had a consistent enough side for years for their fortunes to be affected by a cup run or two for their opposition.

There's also just some clubs you like in addition to supporting your team. And others you dislike.

Perfectly ok to back under those circumstances, but then that's because of the club, not the league it's in.

a couple of years ago, I wanted Millwall to extend their run - or at least take games to replays - as we were going toe to toe in our Annual Relegation Bunfight.

According to a couple of websites, including the FA's, the Fifth Round is to be played on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 :?: :?: :!: Can anyone shed any light on this ?

Was checking for Birmingham away trains (March 7) and that prompted me to check the cup dates.

It’s true. I guess it was to accommodate the winter break because the usual 5th round game is on the 3rd weekend of February which is when the break is

So Birmingham away will be unaffected

According to this, they've still got until this Friday (7th Feb), before they finalise games from 7th March onwards. Birmingham v Reading is unlikely to be picked, but you never know!
