I’m sure FDTW (amongst others) will be surprised to hear Jose throwing his players under the bus in his interview, basically saying he had a squad of 13 players and then “others” who are on another level with real limitations

Did seem to take some responsibility which hasn’t always been evident in the past but when will he realise his medieval techniques don’t spur the players on to prove him wrong and instead massively alienate them against him. He’s many things but he isn’t thick, yet he reverts to that method every time

He's a dinosaur now and an awful manager with bad methods, been overtaken tactically by pep and klopp years ago

If Benfica win at home to Dynamo Kiev (who have 1 point so far in the group) then only a win for Barcelona away at Bayern Munich will see Barcelona progress in the CL

Thought City were fantastic tonight, even in the absence of Foden, De Bruyne and Grealish. Transition from left to right and vice versus was superb

PSG were shambolic. I don’t think Neymar is close to being as good as how he’s perceived and there was little cohesion between the front three all game. They won’t be winning the CL

Europa league shaping up to be pretty insane this year with teams who've missed out on CL knockouts ,possibly Barcelona and 1 from Milan and Atletico

Dortmund out of everything aswell

Dortmund into the Europa League, I think. Barca looks a good shout - currently two points ahead of Benfica, but they go to Munich for their final game, whilst Benfica host Dynamo Kiev. In Group F, Atalanta need to beat Villereal in their final game to pinch a R16 place. Lille currently top of Group G, but will slip into the Europa League if they lose at Wolfsburg, who are bottom but could still make R16.

Barca diving head long into a Europa League play-off tie - currently 3 down at an empty Allianz Arena.

Spurs vs Rennes off as Spurs have 20  Covid cases. Don't think they will be playing again for a while.

Rennes rather bizarrely have thrown their toys out of the pram and are insisting they are going to play the game, despite already being through. Why risk your entire squad catching Covid for a match that doesn't matter?

They should have just settled this with a game of FIFA, only logical answer.

Seb Haller managed to break records the other night, managing to score in all six of the Champions League group stage games. Lewandowski was one off (wasn’t happy with being subbed last night!) and Ronaldo too (didn’t feature last night)

Classic example of a player not being in the correct environment at West Ham as evidently, there was a player in there

Haller is also ahead of Haaland with the most goals from his first six games in the Champions League (10).

As you say, good player, wrong fit at West Ham, where his 10 league goals in comparison took 48 appearances.

Ajax look a great shout to get far this year. Got a water tight defence conceding 2  goals all season in the league

Would have much rather they got the final then spurs a few years ago

Champions League R16 draw at 11am.

Liverpool can draw one of Benfica, Inter, PSG, Salzburg, Sporting Lisbon or Villereal.
For City it is Atletico, Benfica, Inter, Salzburg, Sporting Lisbon or Villereal.
For United, they will face one of Atletico, Benfica, Inter, PSG, Salzburg, or Sporting Lisbon.

Zenit's late equaliser pushed Chelsea into second in their group, which means they'll play one of Ajax, Bayern, Lille or Real Madrid.

No away goals this season in the knockout stages.

Everyone in pot 2 obviously hoping for Lille, who are 11th in Ligue 1 this season and scraped through the easiest group scoring just seven goals. The top seeds likely all want RB Salzburg, who came second to Lille.
