Simmops
Winston Biscuit Just noticed how well Cove Rangers are doing in Scotland.

I previously noticed them when they went into the play offs to try and get into the Scottish football league for the first time 2 years ago but having looked back on it I see they beat Berwick 7-0 to get into the league, then won League 2 last season and now sit top of League 1.

Hope they don't turn into another Gretna. I remember they used to utterly dick teams back in the 2000s and had a player called Kenny Deucher who was a doctor and part time player who scored a stoooooooooooopid amount of goals.

I had a big accumulator on the day Gretna won promotion to the SPL. I went into injury time with them and someone else not winning and both teams scored winners leaving me leaping around the house.

Zlatan with a 93rd minute equaliser to keep Milan unbeaten, coming from 2 nil down to draw 2-2 with fair Verona.

Valencia batter Real 4-1.

Rangers beat Hamilton 8-0. They're 9 points clear of Celtic, having played two games more.

Also lol @ Lazio and their Covid shenanigans

a few players (incl Immobile among other first teamers) tests positive under UEFA test so missed their European game, then 2 days later tests negative under the Lazio doctor so played in Serie A, then tested again 2 days later by UEFA for the next European game and tests positive

Lazio then said on Saturday morning that their tests show no one as positive so they can all play the next day against Juve but they have also been told to get secondary tests done from non Lazio doctors just to be sure as they were coming under pressure after the UEFA results. Secondary test results come back on Saturday afternoon and a whole load of the players show up as positive

In Italy all clubs must report their Covid test results to the local health authority but Lazio are the only club in Serie A who have not been reporting theirs as they say they test 'outside of their home region' so results don't matter to the local health authority.

Local heath authority got police involved at the weekend to raid their training ground and seize all test results documents, used swab tests, and communication information has also been requested from them.

Inquiry going on to understand if the club will be hit with a criminal charge for falsifying covid test results

Bundesliga goal record is 40 in a season.

Lewandowski is on 11 in 6 games already. 27 games left to get 29 goals.

Lewandowski already holds the record (34) for players who aren't called Gerd Muller.

Brilliant goal from Denmark, where defender Nicolai Geertsen scored a volley for Lyngby that any striker would be proud of. It's just it was a direct rebound from his own scissor kick which hit the bar. Ridiculous scenes.

HNA favourite Bodo/Glimt can wrap up the league title this weekend as they are 18 points clear with 6 left to play. They have scored 83 goals so far in the league averaging 3 1/2 goals a game. Dropped only 7 points all season

Youssoufa Moukoko turns 16 today, and by German league rules is now eligible to play for Dortmund in competitive games. If he plays against Hertha Berlin tomorrow he will become the youngest person ever to have played a league game in Germany (not least since the age limit used to be 17). The hype around this kid appears real - or at least he is ready to step up, with three hat-tricks in three games at youth level this season (10 goals in total) and an overall record of 44 goals in 23 games at u19 level.

In Sancho, Haaland, Reyna, Bellingham and Moukoko the club has five of the most exciting young talents in the game. I'm really hoping they stay there, instead of spreading out between Real, PSG and City over the next few years.

Atletico Madrid 1-0 Barcelona

Barca have won 3 of their 8 league games so far. They are in 10th place with some teams just below them in the league still to play this weekend.

Many pundits have been tipping Atletico to win the league this season and this will add to it. Joao Felix looking sensational too.

Haaland gets 4 goals. He has scored more than a goal a game for Dortmund since joining them 11 months ago

Youssoufa Moukoko came on with 5 minutes to go

Haaland is a fcuking animal. Completely unplayable at times, doesn't even know how good he is either.

PSG lost for the third time this season, at Monaco, to at least keep it interesting in Ligue 1 - just two points clear of Lille, and four points ahead of three other sides. Also their 8th red card of the season in all competitions, and a second for Abdou Diallo. If they don't beat RB Leipzig tonight in the CL they might struggle to qualify for the KO stages.

As OMA noted, Sassuolo briefly top of Serie A. Another Zlatan brace takes Milan back above them. He's got 10 in 6 league games this season, scoring in every game he has played.

Haaland is indeed ridiculous. He's got 60 goals in 57 games since he left Molde. Real shame he won't be at the Euros next year.
This season is looking like a real struggle for Schalke. They spent a handful of seasons in the second tier in the 90s but otherwise have been fixtures in the Bundesliga since its inception. Currently bottom, without a win and conceding three goals a game.

Benfica are the only team to have scored against Rangers in nearly two months. They have conceded just three goals in 15 SPL games and are really threatening Celtic's record low of 18 goals conceded in a season.

Good round up.

Zlatan is incredible, impressed me in each game I have seen him play this season. It is nice to see Milan up the top of Serie A after so many years away from challenging. They were my Italian team during the Channel 4 Italian football era growing up.

Oh and Werder Bremen set a rather specific Bundesliga record at the weekend, their draw with Bayern being their fifth 1-1 draw in a row.

Saw a good Zlatan stat the other day...

He has played for 6 clubs who have won the Champions League, having never actually won the trophy himself.
