I have Virgin Media XL + ESPN america

What are the chances that a) Virgin will be kind enough to reduce my bill now that i dont get any Setanta channels? and b) that the Prem games next year will be included in the £10 a month that i already pay on top for ESPN america?

Don't you get Setanta free with your virgin deal? If so I can't see them giving you any money.

The Prem games will be separate to ESPN's current output. Until Setanta actually went bust (LOLz) ESPN were going to have 3 channels from August. 1 (ESPN classic) included in Sky's sports pack, 1 (ESPN America) in Setanta's bundle and 1 (the future channel carrying EPL games) on sky but in addition to your sky sports sub

What does this mean for UFC? Will Sky Sports finally step up?

I've read that ESPN will do their subcriptions via Sky, but I'm not sure what that actually means.

How do people now get these extra 46 Premiership games?
Do all the people who currently subscribe to Sky Sport 1, 2, 3 and Xtra automatically get it?

Well, Setanta's channels have gone already but ESPN america is still there, so that's nice

I read earlier that UFC can't be on Sky because of Sky's deal with the WWE, but that's probably cobblers

I believe ESPN are setting up a new channel for their footy, but it will be carried by Sky, they're in talks with BT, Virgin et all about whether they'll carry it

No,it means that as well as the SKY SPorts package you will also have a SKY Sports "supreme" package which will include ESPN as well as the existing SKY channels. There will be an incremental cost (£10 a month??) fo rthis package

[quote="ESPN"]the new ESPN channel, which will run alongside its existing UK channels, ESPN Classic and ESPN America, will be available on every platform, including cable, satellite and Freeview. The company has already signed a wholesale deal with Sky, which is expected to offer the new channel to the six million or so customers who subscribe to its sports package, for a monthly fee of around £10.£[quote]

I reckon the ESPN games will be pay per view through Sky, or you pay a season ticket.

Would imagine Sky will pick it up at a reduced fee, either that or ESPN.

Ref those on Virgin XL packages, you won't get any money back as it is included in your package. Those that have the lower packages and pay extra for Setanta will be reimbursed by Virgin, or so I hear. Bit of a con in theory as you are paying for it in your XL package just not as a separate charge

All I can say is that it deserves them right. I had had a free months subscription with Sentanta and thought it was a load of crap, all they did was show golf and UFC, and your get the odd football game but these were mainly from the blue square premier, and who's interested in watching that.
As well they carried on the subscription for another month without me knowing so had to payout the subsciption fee and cancel it at the end of that month :x

Er, the people who support the clubs that play in that division? (Can't be many of them, I'll grant you....)

Isn't UFC just pro-wrestling for adults who know they are too old to still be watching WWE?

I did hear that UFC viewing figures were nowhere near what they hoped for. Mind you, that probably goes for most of what they showed. I used to like watching the Aussie Rules on there, but they often decided to replace live games this year with 2 hours of the home shopping channel instead, as they'd pay them to show their channel.

Watched quite a lot of the Blue Square games on Setanta. Enjoyed them. Especially the young blond lasses asking the managers for their thoughts during the game!!It seemed very much like games used to be-small stands, people standing, players swearing at each other, jumpers for goalposts, small boys.......

I subscribed to Racing UK, which was then included in the Setanta channels package. I did this on an annual basis, and I still have 4 months left to run this year. Racing UK have contacted me to say "you're still alright until October" - very handy. The only downside being that Racing UK is now a stand alone channel, which is going to charge £20 per month  At £12.99 per month, I got Racing UK, Prem action , foreign footie & IPL.

I love Racing UK, but £240 per year on top of a Sky subscription and your license fee - where does it all end ?!?!

Don't you get At The Races as part of your Sky Sports subcription though?
