Forgive me for thinking most fans would like top players at their club to try and bring success. All except Reading fans then.

1. Not at the expense of being a shambles for quite a while after. See us, and for more extreme example, see Portsmouth.

But at the time he took over you didn't know that. He promised riches, you got excited then he did a runner.

I can assure you that the odds of me getting excited about RFC are vanishingly small.

genome I should just copy and paste my previous responses really.

I'm not sure why you're lumping all Reading fans into one basket. Unless it suits your argument :?: As I've said, plenty were cautious about spending and to be fair, rightly so.

You don't necessarily need to spend money to get top players. See Reading's recent history. Leicester, Burnley, etc...

I can't recall any top players at Reading. Sigurdsson at a push, but even he's not a 'top' player.

Whether a player is a top player or not is surely proportional to the club's stature/reputation and their league position.

Reports that Real Madrid have agreed a €10M fee to sign Alexander Isak. He is the kid who became the Swedish national teams youngest ever goalscorer last week

He played 24 league matches last season for the runner up in Sweden scoring 10 goals and only turned 17 at the end of the season.

genome File under Martin Odegaard

Odegaard has only just turned 18 last month and has apparently been one of the stars of RM's B team who won their 3rd division last season (losing in the play offs)

ROFLoss Mcormack transfer listed by Villa after missing several training sessions including one time where he claimed the security gates at his house were broken so he couldn't get out. Offered to his old club Fulham but they put it to the existing players who came back with a resounding, errr no thanks bruv

Wolves fans seem to think they have triggered a €15M buyout clause for Helder Costa who is on loan to them from Benfica atm.
