genome Fulham reject £25m bid for Ryan Sessegnon.

£25m for a 17 year old  And they rejected it!

Would be interesting who that is from. Liverpool were linked, but have already signed Andy Robertson. Probably Spurs.

Fulham went all out to keep both Ryan and his brother over the summer. I expect they will have no choice but to sell next summer - and if Ryan continues to progress as he has then they'll get more than £25m for him.

Spurs

I've got £20 at 5/1 on him to join Spurs, so this is upsetting. Can't see them going any higher than that.

I know he is 30, but in the context of this summer's fees, £13.5m for Blaise Matuidi (PSG to Juventus) is a frickin' bargain.

It's the going market for someone who qualifies as home grown. Evans appears to be yet another United centre half who has never kicked on, the same as Smalling and Jones. There was a point when he was keeping either Ferdinand or Vidic out the team, and I thought he would be at United for years.

Probably because he's been one of the most reliably good CB's in the league for the last 3 or 4 seasons.

Wasn't really keeping them out but was a more than able deputy

Reading's Gunnarson to Harper and Sidwell i.e.i'd have been happy
with any 2 from that 3

£118M according to 'sources' on twitter. That's a lot of money for a player who no longer wants to be at Liverpool.

I think they should have cashed it in for a new keeper and 2 CBs

Indeed, if there's one thing Liverpool have shown in their opening games, it's that scoring and creating opportunities isn't a problem.

5 goals, 28 shots, 13 on target in 2 away games.

Take the money and buy some quality defenders.

It's too late to spend it, given they have struggled to bring in their targets all summer. For all his pathetic posturing, if he doesn't leave, Coutinho will be 'reintegrated' soon enough, especially given the possibility of CL football, and the World Cup next year.

It's actually been refreshing to see the likes of Liverpool, Southampton (Van Dijk), Dortmund (Dembele) and Leipzig (Keita) digging their heels in this summer; a sharp reminder to players and agents that the contracts they sign are a two-way street.

But yes, £114m for Coutinho is barking mad - although apparently the bid a lot easier to reject since £30m of that was in add-ons for some ridiculous stipulations like 'wins Champions League and Ballon D'Or' in same season.'

Chris Wood having a medical at Burnley today. Reported as £15M basic + £3M add ons.

a one season 2nd tier wonder is now worth £18M.

Tbf he's more than a one-season player. He got 19 in 53 games for Leicester, and 43 in 85 for Leeds, he has shown he can consistently score at Championship level, is improving every season and is still only 25. Burnley will likely get his best years. Whether Wood's best years are worth £18m is another question.

Do you think Barca will come knocking again in January or at the end of the season? I think Coutinho will be very unhappy he hasn't secured a move to a big club..

Maybe he will be unhappy. I think Coutinho's concern if that Barca won't come knocking again - if they sign Seri and Dembele, will they need him? Maybe not.
But the guy who signed a new five-and-a-half-year deal just 8 months ago will also know that he will miss the World Cup next year, as well as the chance to keep himself in the shop window, if he spends the season being 'unhappy'.

Reckon Van Dijk & Dembele will go in the next 10 days. Both players causing problems over not getting their move.

Ye but Chris Wood! Someone needs to go on a hunt for the Burnley board's marbles.
