BR0B0T
Sanguine
Jim Royal or that C) People believe every rumour.

There's been a lot of rumours going around, but all the major outlets picked up the Ox transfer, so I'm going with true.

But as I said, I don't get it. And I don't get Liverpool's interest either. They have been great going forward this season, and that's without Lallana to come back from injury, and possibly Coutinho too. Don't see how Ox improves them (or Chelsea).

Was comparing the United and Liverpool Squads yesterday. Liverpool
have very little in the way of depth. Currently, would be relying upon
getting no injuries or suspensions

Goalkeeper
Those highlighted decent at best

Danny Ward
Loris Karius
Simon Mignolet

Kamil Grabara

Defender
Again decent at best i.e. for every good game
they have, there will be one equally bad...

Nathaniel Clyne
Jon Flanagan
Dejan Lovren
Mamadou Sakho
Joe Gomez
Ragnar Klavan
Alberto Moreno
Andrew Robertson
Joel Matip
Trent Alexander-Arnold

Midfielder
James Milner - decent enough
Jordan Henderson - genuinely can't assess properly, i don't think he's that good
Marko Grujic
Sadio Mane good
Emre Can - decent enough (would he have displaced Gerrard or Alonso...nope!)
Ryan Kent
Oviemuno Ejaria
Ben Woodburn
Harry Wilson

Attacking Midfielder
Georginio Wijnaldum - decent enough
Philippe Coutinho - good
Mohamed Salah....wait and see, good signs tho!
Adam Lallana - decent enough
Lazar Markovic

Striker
Roberto Firmino - decent enough (pos underating him)
Daniel Sturridge...good spell with Suarez been injured since
Divock Origi
Danny Ings
Dominic Solanke
Rhian Brewster

When you split it out it might look bare but bring it together into a team and I'd say they have ample cover.

Assuming their usual 4-3-3, they have six spots and nine genuine first-teamers to fill them (Henderson, Can, Milner, Wijnaldum, Coutinho, Salah, Lallana, Firmino, Sturridge) - and then you have the likes of Grujic, Origi, Ings and Solanke who are all good enough squad players. In defence they've got 10 players for 4 spots - Robertson looks decent and Moreno will do for cover. And they have three right-backs. Only real 'weakness' in the squad is central defence, for me.

Roma break their transfer record to sign Patrik Schick from Sampdoria for €38M

€5M loan fee with mandatory further €33M fee. If Schick is sold within the first 5 years of being at Roma then Sampdoria receive a further €20M or 50% of the transfer fee - whichever is highest.

That's a decent deal. Chelsea fans can't begrudge him choosing a much bigger club.

Mahrez on his way somewhere. Would be a good fit for Arsenal but can also see a situation where Chelsea lose theirs heads a bit today going into full panic buy mode and end up with him, and maybe even that Spanish fella at Swansea.

With the exception of Kante I can't really see those Leicester players being a success anywhere else... kind of like when our 106 team split up

Mahrez and his agent doing a good job of keeping the press guessing

He is at Paris Airport right now and according to various members of the press he has definitely just signed for Spurs, Chelsea, Roma, Man Utd & Arsenal.

BBC say that Mahrez himself might not yet know with apparently Roma and Spurs leading the way for his signature. He's sat at CdG waiting to find out where to fly.

would be mentz to say to your family that you are off to an airport and you have no idea which country your new job will be in but pack your bags because you are moving somewhere.

would be well exciting if transfers and TDD happened in the real world.

Apparently they had a bid of £23m turned down last night.

West Brom have also told City that they won't sell Evans without a replacement, and would like that to be Mangala.

To complete a pretty complex picture, apparently Inter want both Mangala and Arsenal's Mustafi, and if Mustafi leaves, Arsenal want Evans!

Not quite sure how you square that circle!

interesting listening to former Watford DOF on Talksport yesterday explaining how transfers work behind the scenes. Nothing particularly revelatory but it's nice to hear that it is as amateurish as you expect - 'we sit around in the office watching SSN until late to see what is going on while keeping a phone nearby, if it rings and we like the sound of it we phone the player at home and tell him to get in his car'

Said he has taken calls from teams up north with 1 hour left of the window asking to quickly sign one of their players and he has had to remind them of where they are in the country to explain why it won't happen in time.

Also said most late deals are done 'subject to medical' so all talk of will he pass the medical in time etc is just bullsh*t.

BBC now saying that Leicester have received no bids for Mahrez, and that he is pulling a bit of an Odemwingie, and just sitting in the airport trying to force a move through.

And I guess it's always about who you know, isn't it - what a coup for Swansea if the Paul Clement link helps them sign Renato Sanches on loan.

Does it have to be done face to face? Can they not do it via skype /fax and scanning the documents for example?
