Morata going back to Juve. Loan deal for a €9M fee with a €45M option to buy

Being reported that Juve couldn't get Dzeko's signing over the line as Milik going the other way was part of the deal and that bit hit problems.

Never has a player so average had so much money paid for him... if Juve pay that his combined career transfer fees will be over £200m

He has 59 top flight league goals...

Winston Biscuit Was just reading that the Thiago deal is £20M basic + £10M add ons and the basic is has been structured as £5M per season over 4 years.

Mind boggling when you look at the price some others go for

Michael Edwards has done a fantasic job there. They have structured the Jota signing in a similar way - essentially means that their book outlay this season for Tsimikas, Jota and Thiago is c. £20m. They got £5m of the Hoever money up front from Wolves, £6m of the Lovren fee, £1.5m (I think) this season for Ejaria and they'll make up the rest when Brewster moves. Brilliant worked - they will have lost two squad players and two teenagers, and brought in Thiago, Jota and backup to Robertson for roughly net zero.

whereas Ed Woodard has

signed one player who doesn't improve* the first eleven (but is necessary i.e. like Jota) and...

managed to keep Mata, Lingard, Pererria, Jones, Rojo, Smalling** on about half a million a week

...they don't even make the squad!!

In the last five years the Glazers have paid themselves £90M in dividends

We've also paid out over a billion in interest on a £540M loan

Assuming your 5 years timescale applies to the interest as well, that equates to c20% interest
Are you sure that doesn’t include some capital repayments ?

If not then whoever negotiated that deal on behalf of the lender needs a knighthood

Weirdly he is most prolific for Spain (17 in 33 games). Juventus move surprises me - Pirlo appeared to stamp his mark on the team a little at the weekend with three youngsters making debuts, and no he goes backwards to Morata.

the loan interest is since they took over...can't rem the number but would be surprised if they have paid £150M of the debt off

Winston Biscuit Suarez flew to Italy to take a language exam, which is needed if you want to apply for citizenship. He can apply for this as his wife already has italian citizenship and it will mean he doesn't take up a non EU spot in clubs squads (Juve have apparently used up all their non EU spots)

"There has been “irregularities” in the test of Luis Suárez for Italian Exam in the University for Perugia. “Suárez got advance questions, he had the passport by cheating”, according to preliminary investigations"

AC Milan signing Jens Petter Hauge from Bodo/Glimt for €5M. Scored against them last week and apparently is discussed in Norway as 'the new Haaland'

Very, very highly rated - will be intresting* to see how he does.

In non-transfer news, Man Utd told by Dortmund to not even bother putting in a bid of €90m for Sancho as they will only accept €120. The Man Utd tactic of just going back with low bids to a club that doesn't need to sell for a player working wonders again. Sancho seems happy either way - certainly seems more comfortable in Dortmund given the arrival of more English players.

It looks as though Leicester did not want to pay the extra premium that tends to apply to English players (Tarkowski in this case).

Ross Barkley joins Villa from Chelsea on season long loan.

Think that is a pretty good signing from them. Looking pretty solid for this season, imo.

That just feels like a very nice deal for Villa.
