Sanguine Why would Raheem Sterling join Palace?

Think he means Okazaki and Norwich.

Ah I see. Must be some big canaries in East Anglia then. :)

Good signing that. For less than VvD as well.

But 34 when we signed him

Plus he had just been at Bournemouth where he scored a bucket-load of goals at our level. Not being turned down by Melbourne City in the A-League.

He was a good player. yes he's 38 but he's one of those proper athletes that never really had injuries

There must be someone younger they can pick up, or is already in their set-up, who is just as good. It is good publicity for them though as it is a good story.

That'll be good then, a 38 year old Australian easily dominating and controlling the game for Millwall on Saturday week.

Just read that last week 21 year old Liam Henderson moved from Celtic to Bari.

I may have to dig out, or start a new, the Brits Abroad thread.

Monaco sign 16 year old Pietro Pellegri from Genoa for €25M

He is the kid who's dad, Genoa asst manager, cried on the touchline when he scored his first goal last season.

Became the youngest player ever to score twice in a serie A game. Has hardly played since.

Unsurprisingly linking up with Steve Clarke. AV really messed him up.

Should be a lesson to all youngsters really, that the grass isn't always greener. I am sure we would've started to build our team around him had he stayed.

Tenuous link - but it's good to see Alex McCarthy finally getting a run of games, after Forster was dropped. But he was at Southampton for two years before making his league debut, and has only played 18 games in total since he left Reading. Still 'only' 28, but he really needs to cement a first-team place now, somewhere, as he moves into his peak years.

ArsenaLOL get a lot of stick on here, but you can't really argue against Aubameyang's signing, and for £55m, a steal in today's market.

I am just waiting for Giroud to give a big two fingers to Arsenal and say, nope I am not moving, just to oxf*rd everything up :D .

But agreed, if it all goes through, him and Lacazette upfront would be something to watch for sure.

Dortmund won't sell Aubameyang until they get Batshuayi

Chelsea won't sell Batshuayi until they get Giroud

Arsenal won't sell Giroud until they get Aubameyang
