Four Of Clubs ISTH1S (Friday 25th April)
Result: Guernsey 2-2 Folkestone Invicta
- And as stated above Guernsey finish 4th and will travel to face Invicta again in the Play Off S-Fs – unless the ‘Tanners’ (Leatherhead) lose by 2 or more goals at home to Worthing this PM. In which case they will be the opponents.

Leatherhead won 2-0, but also managed to pick up a six point deduction this afternoon for "a registration irregularity", so will host Guernsey on Tuesday, while Folkestone Invicta play Hastings United. The ties must be decided on the night.

Discussions ongoing about a change of venue for Franham Town v Windsor scheduled for Thursday 1st May. As Farnham's pitch resembles a swamp, it might get switchd to Stag Meadow.

A rare visit to this thread for me, but very pleasing to see my local (to where I grew up) side AFC Telford United being crowned Champions on the last day of the Conference North over the weekend and heading back to the Conference Prem next season.

Loving this, what with following Southport and their manager / most of their squad from 2011/12 [when I was seeing their PA lady/club minion - before she got HUGGEEEEEEEE] being there.

...seems very plausible - tonight's (Tue 29th) CCLP Fixture: between Farnham & Molesey at Babbs Mead has been switched to the away sides ground, at fairly short notice.

Sadly Cobham can't find an XI to host the unbeaten champions (Spelthorne Sports) tonight. Think 'Spelly' could be in 3 or 4 Cup Finals before season's end.

...doesn't leave a lot to choose from tonight and I'm on 'Dad's Taxi's' again :| - might try the penultimate game of AFC Hinksey's season; if Culham Rd hasn't already sunk again - after today's downpour. :?

Or could always bundle down to Cove v Wembley - since I'm over that side of 'Ding - don't really fancy the trying to get to either of the 'local' Play-Offs @ Chesham or Leatherhead - bit too much of a rush and probably extra aggro parking.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
THREE 'local' CUP Finals to salivate over 8) tomorrow (Wed 30th) - should I resist the lure of Chelski on't box .....
Aldershot Cup : Camberley v Alresford @ the (w)Rec
Basingstoke Cup : Tadley Calleva v AFC Aldermaston @ Tadley - Aldermaston got there beating Fleet Town 2-1 last night at Calthorp Pk.
Andover Cup : Andover Town v Otterbourne @ Andover New Street
In the Hellenic league 'Robins' campaign draws to a close H v Nomads @ Larges Lane KO 19:45
- went last night to : Bracknell vs Ardley - home side pressed hard and were a mite unfortunate to lose 1-2 - immaterial though, as the Fred's (Wantage Town) stormed to a 5-1 at Ab. Town to win the Hellenic Prem Title by 2 points from Ardley; with 'Yellamen' a distance back in third; Highmoor/IBIS just behind in 4th and 'Moles' a creditable 5th.
In other matches Ascot fizzled out to a home loss 0-1 v Kidlington; RTFC drew a blank 0-0 v Highworth and Wok & Emm drew 1-1 v Magpies Ressies (tonight's visitors at Hinksey above) - the match was played at Henley Town.
A very good write up there tmesis. I didn't actually go to the game as I was at Donny.
It's a nice little ground in it's new form, much changed from the old Bucks Head, but I do like the new build.
The fact you didn't see much of Telford other than Ironbridge is probably for the best!
... tonight's CCLP game Farnham v Windsor is OFF - awaiting League committee decision - probably doubtful it'll be played now but 'news awaited' as they say?
'Local' NL Results of note this MW (Tue-Wed)
Southern League Play Offs S-Fs
Prem: Chesham 2-1 Stourbridge - Generals host StAlebuns (who went to Camb City and went through 4-2 in the other semi) on B/H Mon PM in the Final at Amy Lane.
1 Central: Rugby 0-3 Sluff :D - Rebels now travel to Kettering the same PM - both 15:00 KOs
1 South & West: Final is twixt Merthyr and Paulton Rovers.
In the Ryman Play Offs - Leatherhead edged Guernsey 3-2 - by a few reports that I've glanced through, they ought to have been out of sight before the 'Green Donkeys' grabbed two late goals. The 'Tanners' will play Folkestone in the Final - in the Northern section the Final will be between Witham & Harlow; whilst Hornchurch and Lowestoft meet to see who'll be playing Conference Football next season.
- probably a poisoned chalice as one of them may well be cast to the Northern wastes - and doubtless have money problems due to excessive travelling. Should Hornchurch triumph I s'pose there an outside chance it'll be poor Hemel, who'll become the honorary members of the Flat Cap 'n Whippet League - or even Chesham/StAlbans dependant upon lines of latitude! 8)
In the CONF South Play Offs Dover drew 1-1 v Sutton whereas Ebbsfleet walloped Bromley 4-0. 2nd legs on Saturday.
'Robins' lost their final Hellenic Prem match @ Larges Lane 0-2 v Nomads and the Basingstoke Cup Final was won by Tadley on their own patch edging AFC Aldermaston: 3-2.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Tue - I went to a thoroughly entertaining end-of-season dust up, between Hinksey and the 'Magpies Kids' - well mostly - sensibly looked as if there were a few older heads drafted in to bolster the defence/midfield. I was a bit concerned whether it would be played, what with the downpours throughout the PM and early eve - and Culham's Roads propensity for disappearing at regular intervals beneath the Thames. :shock:

Hinksey behaved themselves - though there was a bit of simmering going on at times - and as a result it was good open game - probably also due in no small part to the fact that they could only get 2nd place now. Ended 3-3 with twists and turns and a few real 'worldies'. No prog or team line-ups board on show, so no names I'm afraid. :roll:

Much like Highmoor/IBIS - somewhere beneath all the (perceived) simmering hostility and bad disciplinary record, Hinksey have the makings of a really good side and its a shame it may well be broken up further if rumours are true - I've read a fair number of their better players have already skipped up the road to Ab Utd.

Not sure if they (AFC Hinksey) will get promotion - its probably there if they want it .... but their own future, much like that of the landlords Ab. Town, is open to some questions. Shame the crowd was only about 15: - the night before, for the Abbots final home match vs Champions elect Wantage, the crowd was reportedly close to 300.

Some promising youngsters on show in the B&W stripes, that might force their way into Drax's plans for next season.

Wed - ventured close to the 'dark-side' and popped down to the Rec. for the Aldersh!t Senior Final Camberley 3-4 Alresford - both sides had finished runners-up in their respective STEP05 leagues and match didn't disappoint - if anything Camberley held the upper hand through most of the 2nd half as the sides had swapped goals @ regular intervals up to 2-2 at H/T.
With the match in it's last two minutes and Camberley leading 3-2 and well in control - their Wessex League opponents looking long bereft of ideas, a disastrous bit of defending saw an equaliser out of the blue - followed (mercifully cos I didn't fancy another 30' slog as both sides actually looked leggy) by an immediate winner for Alresford - finished 4-3.

No surprise that cow patch is waterlogged again.

They played a home game away on Tuesday night, and from what I gather discussions were held about Windsor hosting the game tonight but 'twas not to be for some reason.

...latest mutterings are that it (Farnham v Windsor) might get re-arranged for sometime next week but I suspect Stag Meadow as a venue is also a bit busy - hosting Cup Finals Mon & Thu (not to say a tad on the damp side too) - and of course if there's much more wet stuff, then Babbs Mead will stay swamped.
Might be worth keeping a keen eye on whether/where their other remaining league fixtures take place - H v Ch & Hook tomorrow (Sat) and H v Croydon BH Monday AM - the Bulletin has a somewhat cryptic (11.30 a.m. unless mutually agreed otherwise) note next to the BH fixture ?

Anywhich - here's tomorrow's much reduced programme as we approach season's end:

CONFS Play Off 2nd Legs
Bromley v Ebbsfleet United [0-4]
Sutton United v Dover Athletic [1-1]

CCLP
Farnham Town v Chessington & Hook United
Frimley Green v Wembley
Hanworth Villa v Colliers Wood United
Hartley Wintney v Camberley Town
Mole Valley SCR v Horley Town
Raynes Park Vale v Badshot Lea
South Park v Windsor
Westfield v Epsom & Ewell
CCL1
South Kilburn v Farleigh Rovers

HELLP
The 'Bluefin Sports’ (Supplementary) Challenge Cup
Bracknell Town v Brimscombe & Thrupp
@ Wantage Town

WESS1
Pewsey Vale v Hayling United

Sunday 4th May
CONF Premier Play Offs 2nd Legs
13:30 Cambridge United v FC Halifax Town [0-1] ON ESPN
16:30 Gateshead v Grimsby Town [1-1] ON BT Sport

...may try and get somewhere else for a 2nd game local in NL - if I can escape from amongst the despairing hordes traipsing homewards from the M'Stad - trouble is most of the local stuff is south of jn11 - so may have to get round it via the wilds of Shinfield and beyond :?
Sadly the sub-STEP06/County level stuff closest by are all 14:00 KOs or thereabouts. :|

If Mole Valley and Horley contrive to draw 0-0, Ash Utd will be relegated. Some might mention Anschluss but I doubt it will end 0-0. having spoken to a few of the MV people at last weekend's game, they detest Horley and would love to put them down.

I went to the Cambridge/Halifax game today. Great day out, although massive LOL at the Halifax retards who sang 'Cambridge is a shit hole, I wanna go home' :shock:

Felt like a bit of a nob joining in the pitch invasion but since everyone back home got to do one against Burnley it felt right.

Royal Rother Kettering v Slough play off final today.

Rebels go two down early on @ Kettering then storm back to win it 3-2 2nd half - in the Premier (Southern) now!! :D :D

...sadly Generals (Chesham) blown away by StAlebuns 3-1 in the Premier PO Final at Amy Lane in front of 1000.

Merthyr having led Div 1S&W almost all season only to to be pipped to the title by Cirencester Town fluff it in the PO Final on their own ground beaten by Paulton Rovers.
- both Div One games attracted crowds of well over 2k

'Yellamen' (Ascot) sign off the season with a 2-1 win in the Hellenic Challenge Cup Final vs Ardley Utd @ Abingdon Utd this PM. :D :D
