I remember the warm welcome, free cuppa and chocolate biscuits at Longlevens last year. Nice bunch.

The guy in the cabin was amazed how many fans (about 25) drove down from Windsor to watch the game.

Old Man Andrews
Old Man Andrews They are honestly better off just giving the job to Tallentire again, he is the only guy the chairman really trusts with the team. I may apply myself to be honest.

Have a guess what Bracknell have done...... :D

How long are we giving him?

Surely it won't be too long until the Chairman pulls the trigger again, albeit through the cover of the new guy heading up football matters!

And whats with that shuffle with Steinborn-Busse apparently stepping back a bit?

I don't think Tallentire should ever have been sacked, clearly he is one of the only people on Earth who the chairman trusts with the team. I have met Stephen Peters many times as he headed up the new youth football vision at the club over the summer so I had a fair amount of dealings with him. Talks a good game.....
I will be there again next Thursday, I will find out what is going on with the chairman.

Absolutely, Tally should never have been sacked, it was just at the whim of the Chairman who had a bit of a paddy when things didn't go his way.

Same with Geoff, he was stitched up good and proper.

Windsor 1-7 Eastbourne Utd.

Another pathetic performance, 0-1 at HT, then 0-7 after 70 mins.

Ex- manager Mick Woodham was at the game today and is looking to get back into football now he’s sorted out his health issues.

I’d have him back like a shot.

But on Tuesday we will have a completely different and far stronger team at Burnham when players are back from their loan / dual reg clubs. But that’s not the way forward.

I am being negative after conceding 12 goals at home in 5 days but, Westfield aside, I doubt we will play any better teams at our level than the 2 we’ve played this week.

WESS1
Downton 3-1 Whitchurch United ‘JamBoys’ undone at leaders
Pewsey Vale 0-10 {TEN} Hythe & Dibden
Totton & Eling PP Andover Town – failed mid-day inspection

...had thought about trekking down nr Brizzle for this (Sunday) PM's Vase tie @ Thornbury from the Hellenic One West who host Cribbs from the Western League Premier - so a level above.
- but the outlook is much worse (colder/damper) than the original forecast - and although it's passed a mid-AM inspection it might yet fall foul of the match ref, whenever he turns up. Don't want to find out it's off having traveled half-way there or worse still on arrival. :| - doubtless I'll miss an 11 goal thriller now - have to 'sofa it' and doze in front of Pal@rse and the Filberts.!

There is no 'way forward' at the club until the ground is sorted and someone who has some money is willing to lose money for a ego trip. It's very depressing and looking at the crowds these days its clear many are thinking why bother. Considering many other clubs can find a owner willing to lose money to play real life football manager i'm surprised nobody in a wealthy part of the country is willing to put their hand in their pocket.

I think some might very well be tempted but not without a lease. Catch 22.

Didn't the crown estate claim they had a deal agreed but Mr Stott didn't sign in the end for whatever reason. I'm not up to date on it at all but something to do with who gets the cash from the phone masts was part of the row. Not sure why any of that would stop someone coming in and agreeing new terms if they wanted. It's basically all a mess steaming from the very foundation of the new club and no end in sight...

.... things not improving on the field either : 1-0 defeat at the Gore tonight vs Burnham.

Elsewhere in the Premier : Shrivy win 3-1 at bottom club Brimscomb, Easington bt Ardley 3-0

- Wok & Emm held 0-0 by Ab Utd , Risborough stay well clear at the top of D1E with a 4-0 away at Chalvey.
Ab Town well beaten 0-5 by Holyport at Culham Rd - Langley share 6 goals with Thame Rgrs and Long Crendon edge past Penn & T Gn 2-1.

Fairford beaten 4-0 by Bitton in the Vase.

In the NATN Brackley drew a blank at home v Spennymoor 0-0

...featured sides in the CCL had mixed nights : Baggy Lea beaten at Christchurch in the Vase whilst Ascot's delayed tie at Abbey Rangers remains undecided, following a 2-2 after ET - presumably will have another go at The Racecourse next Tue 12th
- Wessex- Div One Petersfield bow out of the Vase 1-2 at home to Roman Glass St George (Bristol based Western League side)

My match of choice in the Hellenic tonight - Holmer Gn v RG City called off PM - pitch unfit.

Burnham 1-0 Windsor

Having followed Mick Woodham’s Windsor all over the South and West of England (and to Stockton) over the last few years, I can’t see me driving distances to watch this team.

The pitch at Burnham is (and has been for the 10 years I’ve been going there) a terrible place to play football on (Bobble City), but our tactic (maybe because of the surface) was just to aimlessly hoof it forward at every opportunity. We had no wingers, (both on bench) and barely strung 2 passes together all game. Although we huffed and puffed in the 2nd half never really looked like scoring and overall put in another stinking performance.

Time to get back to the Mad Stad RR ?
There is some good passing football being played-you might actually enjoy it.

No chance. Football just isn’t worth the kind of money required to watch the pro game in the flesh on a regular basis, no matter how good the passing.

Armchair for me.

Other options locally to watch more entertaining fare though, albeit without the emotional attachment perhaps. Binfield are going along nicely and have some good players down there these days.

Of course there's also Bracknell, depending on who the manager is this week....

Safe bet to assume it will be Mark Tallentire regardless of what day, month or year it is.

TBH, the other team I follow is Windsor U18s - they beat Basingstoke 4-3 on Monday night which was a pleasant surprise and an entertaining evening. My £49 season ticket (not a concession! :D ) gets me in to all 1st team and U18s league games which is a bloody good deal really (even if the 1st Team are poor atm!)

...had thought about trekking down nr Brizzle for this (Sunday) PM's Vase tie @ Thornbury from the Hellenic One West who host Cribbs from the Western League Premier - so a level above.

Yeah it's tough at Diddy at the moment, we lost 9 first team players in the summer along with a serious cut in the budget (which wasn't big anyway) it's meant we've had to give a lot of younger players chances that may be a little early for them at this level. Plus obviously the players we've mainly brought in are on a lot less money and as ever in football you do generally pay for what you get.

The nucleus of the team isn't bad though, there is something to work with it's just about trying to find a few rough diamonds to fit around them to make us a little more competitive. We knew this was going to be the case, it's not shocked anyone. The cups weren't favourable we desperately needed the money and we got drawn against Poole Town in the FA Cup who are flying, we lost 1-0 in the 95th minute which kind of summed our year up.

We've played some ok football but the lack of finance and lack of quality really effects most teams us included in the final 3rd and it's where most of our good play ends. We can't score regularly and as soon as we go behind everyone knows that the game's up.

Still we played better on Tuesday even though we lost 4-1 at Chesham who are again going well in a league above us, if we can put in a performance that was similar but just improve a bit in the final 3rd then we will be ok to finish somewhere in the middle of the league.
