There is a video of the punch up at Chertsey Town doing the rounds. Not managed to find it yet.

Think Malice at the Palace but non league

Chertsey should be kicked out the league or at least get a few lifetime bans

NathStPaul Chertsey manager resigns following his antics last night.

Blamed it on him moving to Lancaster or something instead of him assaulting supporters :roll:

NathStPaul Bracknell Town fixture at Chertsey abandoned right near the end, no idea why. Odd.

2 red cards for Chertsey, then the Chertsey player / manager went into the crowd and decked someone.

One would imagine all hell let loose then!

Bracknell had destroyed Chertsey and were leading 3-0 when it all went mental in the 82nd minute, wonder if the Isthmian League will let the result stand esp. given 2 Chertsey players were sent off for it?

I'd have thought so given all the evidence points to the Chertsey manager being the cause of the incident. Yet to see or hear any evidence Bracknell contributed to the brawl or did anything to lead the referee to call the game off, sounds all Chertsey. The fact the manager resigned pretty much seals the deal.

Reminds me of that headline from the 70s after the striker Gerry Queen got into a rumpus at Selhurst Park: “Queen in brawl at the Palace”.

A neutral report I've seen suggests that although they were obviously the superior outfit Bracknell had been shithousing throughout the game - seems they are becoming deeply unpopular in the league.

Will see if I can dig it out.

Yeah I read that too. Still, no reason to go around headbutting people. They didn't do anything to warrant massive amounts of aggression at all really. There was some showboating going on and a bit of chat between some of the players but nothing out of the ordinary.

The best teams are always hated. Same at any level of the game really.

...was covered in some part in the link I'd posted above ..... from the neutral hopper reporting on NLM.

- I think I could easily believe that 'The Robins' are hardly innocent Angels, in all of this but doubt the League will contemplate looking beyond the facts of the (alleged) assault by a senior club representative, on a visiting a crowd member - however much of a loudmouthed @rse he may or may not have been.
- Bracknell seem to have have acquired an element of self-aggrandisement and some of their manner on the field rather reflects this
- they are NOT popular within the league (nor do they have to be of course - you don't tend to rack up points by being nice) but this is ONLY STEP04.
They've rapidly forgotten how suddenly they plummeted down through the pyramid and have only started to climb back up within the last ten years or so. Indeed at the end of 12/13 season at STEP06, they only finished above Chinnor on Goal Difference and were 1 point above Maidenhead Reserves!

Constantly good results & the finances to hoover up a lot of the local and not so local talent, have brought a 'big club' attitude to the fore sadly.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Elsewhere this week in NAT-S Hungerford drew 1-1 with Havant & W.; Dorking Wdrs 4-3 Eastbourne Boro and Slough beat Bath 2-0.
- In the division above, 'The Sh!ts' were beaten 0-2 by Weymuff ; Woking fell by the same score at Yeovil and Eastliegh lost 0-1 at Chesterfield
- some surprise scores of note at: Wealdstone, who beat the leaders Grimsby 1-0 and Barnet who won 2-1 at Stockport.
In STEP03 Banbury came away from Royston with a 3-1 win and sit 3rd in SOUTHP-Central with games in hand.
In the Southern Premier - South Chesham shared the points with Beaconsfield (2-2) - late goals here confusing the hell out of the 'official league recorders' again this week - with two of the main sites registering it as 3-2 home win - the visitors were leading 0-2 but the 'Generals' scored theirs on 81' & 96'.
In Southern Div One S Winch came back empty handed from Frome losing 0-2 - decent turnout: 362.
Binfield in Bracknells' division won 2-1 up at Ashford Town
In the B&B Long Crendon progressed with a 1-0 win over Langley and among the CCL Cup games Tadley were a goal behind from about the hour mark to Jersey Bulls - conceded another around FT and then immediately scored themselves - too little too late. :|
....and finally 8) .... last night (Wed) I managed to find my way up to :
Isthmian One South Central Bedfont Sports 4-0 Thatcham Town - M4 is a complete b@$£@rd with it's narrow lanes; 50 mph limits, that large vehicles seem to ignore and sudden closures - if it was a planned one overnight E-W from jn 6-8 I missed it - presume it's just the default condition now ! ... but I made it there (just) by KO and back via the M3.
Thatcham were pretty abject - lots of individual flair but couldn't string two passes together: got muscled off the ball whenever they crossed the half-way line and were occasionally catastrophic at the back.
- Chris Rackley returning after a spell away was probably culpable for two of the goals but wasn't given much cover by his back four all night.
Horndean are flying - must be the infamous sloping pitch which gives Fleet Town a run for its money.
Cant wait for Bracknell vs Basingstoke Town on Saturday, bumper crowd and a great atmosphere.
Basingstoke are exceeding everyone's expectations. They have an excellent balance of seasoned non league pros, academy products and ex football league players, Brendan Rodgers son has just signed for them.
Tempers will flare, going for 3:1 - Basingstoke. This will be there first real proper test as promotion candidates.
Going for horrible looking 0-1, reckon they'll be a red or two.
