Royal Rother I’m sorry OMA this is a thread for fans on Non League Football. We are all in it together, regardless of the position in the pyramid.

Bigging it over those in lower leagues is not really the done thing.

Learn or leave.

You need to learn to stop making sly digs borne out of jealousy then. I reported news from a non-leage club and you and the other one decided to try and make cheap points that aren't relevent to the situation. But you're right I shouldn't disrespect other non-league teams especially Windsor who I like to see do well.

Virginia Water 2-1 Windsor

Dear oh dear. Lots of huff and puff but very little brain from Windsor, plus another faux pas from our keeper, a missed penalty and all in all a disappointing afternoon.

Hearing the inquest on BBCRB after another shambles from Reading didn’t brighten my slightly jaded post-Christmas mood.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
- we managed to achieve two new Southern League Premier - Central 'ticks', up in the damp and misty Midlands -
Match i) 12:00 KO Barwell 2-3 Coalville Town : decent enough ground albeit a bit low-slung and featureless - on-line programme - Sports Bar type establishment at the entrance to the ground.
...then trundled cross-country from Leicestershire across the top of Brum on some tiny back roads, eventually joining the A5 and down nr Walsall just in time for -
Match ii) 15:00 KO Rushall Olympic 1-1 Tamworth - far more meaty affair, in a far more impressive layout - suspect they've probably had a richer history - bigger crowd too, close to 500 but fitted comfortably into the stadium.
...still got a few more dotted around the 2nd City to visit but nice to knock off two of them in one day. :mrgreen:
Back home by about 19:30 - M'ways behaving this w/e which was encouraging.
West to the Eastbourne derby on Boxing Day, with Eastbourne's 2nd and 3rd clubs battling it out in front of an amazing step 5 crowd of 856.
Town, the home team, beat United 5-0. United are having a terrible season, only winning their first game of the season last week, so there probably won't be another derby next season.
That was at 11 am, so I went to Burgess Hill v Worthing afterwards, and only 539 were at that one. I was pleased to see Burgess Hill win as Worthing seem to have attracted a few mouthy fans with a sense of entitlement since they started drawing good crowds.
That's a hell of a crowd for that level!
Are the teams full of local lads and so it's a proper derby game with lots of local interest, or is it just a freak of it being early on Boxing Day and lots of ground hoppers getting their anoraks on for it?
No idea about the players, but it would require quite a hefty groundhopper contingent to get the crowd anywhere near that, so I'd say it's one for the locals. With Brighton not playing until 5:15, maybe some Brighton fans from the town went along (they were certainly a few there).
The ground itself isn't stunning, covered at one end and about a third of one side, but it's right in the town centre, with the imposing victorian town hall creating an interesting backdrop, so it's a nicer place to go than it would be if it was out on the edge of town somewhere. Town average well over 200 for their games, despite not being in promotion contention.
...agreed - went along during Windsor's Vase run last year and the surrounding buildings are enchanting - I'm sure one of those gert big ornate one's is/was a Council Offices - with what appears to be an internal door frame that opens out on to a sheer drop - probably the Rent Rebate Office! :lol: :lol:
Famous home 'posse' 'Pier Pressure' include an 'ultra' section too that make a lot of noise - Beachy Head?
...by contrast the town's Premier club (Borough) are stuck out at a fairly soulless low slung effort way up the other side of Langney - which was of course their original name I think or at least the club that played on the site were called that (Langney Sports) before changing their name in 2001.
United Association are the 3rd club along with two others; Langney Wanderers & Little Common , that currently groundshare @ United and Borough; - their ground is nearer the sea-front next to the big funfair.
Can't remember much about Burgess Hill from my visit there roughly 10 years back maybe - they subsequently went on an astonishing unbeaten run, in 14-15, up the Ryman Div 1 S, as was, to reach STEP03 - beat the Sh!ts at the (w)Rec in a Trophy Tie too - that I took my youngest to - good 'rite of passage' for him. 8) .
Think they went through almost to April that season, having lost only two matches; one each in the Trophy/FA Cup & BOTH of those to Conference side, Dartford ?
Yep, always a good read, factual and unpretentious.
Some others on here these past few pages need to take a look at themselves.
From what I've been told the reason why the crowd was so big was simply because it was a derby, though that was a record attendance. There's obviously big interest in derbies down there as remember being told about the Eastbourne-Lewes derby a decade ago attracting a crowd of 3000 :shock: Having checked that was in National Lge South, for some reason thought it was in National Lge.
I've always found it hard to believe that Eastbourne has 3 non league clubs.
Were the Ultras in good voice?
And did you notice any Windsor FC stickers from our FA Vase Triumph there last year?
