paultheroyal What a ground that is!! One of the nicest non league step level grounds I have ever seen. Very impressed. What’s the deal there? Have Bracknell paid for that? Are they staying there.

I loved yesterday and will now follow Basingstoke away more. When we equalised i literally celebrated like a reading goal, gutted at the end for the late winner.

Some of our fans were bellends and giving the keeper stick.

I defend refs, but Christ he was an oddball hearing him speak to players. No complaints with red card.

Basingstoke need to bounce back and win these games in hand and they are right back in the mix.

The lino wasn't much cop either but then he did get a fair amount of abuse first half

Not sure if it was you who clocked my sons retro Reading scarf draped over the chair by the window of the clubhouse

Good win for Buxton at York esp. given they sacked their manager at the beginning of last week for reportedly having temerity to put his family first and go on a holiday which had been mucked about with by covid restrictions and that would have seen him lose money for nothing if he hadn’t have gone. Surely there’s more to it than that?

Has to be more to it than that because it was the assistant manager who was going away on holiday....

Maybe the manager supported it, chairman said no, so he stays or you both go.

Did they speak to another team or something?

An odd sacking considering they were unbeaten in about a million games

...a few 'local' NL games to mention from this midweek :

Sh!ts beaten at home by 'Wrecsam' in the NAT
In the level below (NAT-N) Brackley won 2-0 at home to Spennymoor - sets up nicely, this w/e's trip to leaders AFC Fylde, only GD separates them at the top and Saints have a game in hand too.

In the Southern section: Hungerford 0-1 Hemel Hempstead att 452
- went to Bulpit for this - disappointing performance. After a very good recent run 'Crusaders' were in with a chance of getting up to 2nd and Hemel were near the bottom.
The 'Tudors' were functional and well-drilled at the back, did just enough to hang on to the lead and grab the points - more or less with their only clear chance around the hour mark.
Hosts had 2 early goals (rightly) chalked off for offside but you could see what they were about as to why they are flourishing - simply mis-fired badly in front of goal on the night - stay 5th.

In IL1-South Central Basingstoke scored late on at Winklebury v Uxbridge but conceded an even later leveller c. 90' to stay 7th - visitors 2nd behind Bracknell with Binfield tucked in 3rd - Marlow now 6th behind Hanwell and Bedfont Sp..

In SL Premier South Hartley W. were clobbered 5-0 at Kings Langley and Chesham lost 2-0 at Met Police - Liam Ferdinand and Johnathan Hippolyte the scorers.
...at the top Farnborough eased past Beaconsfield 2-0 at Cherrywood to go 9 pts clear of H&Y and Gosport
Banbury bt Rushall 2-0 in the Central section and go 3rd with games in hand.

Not much action lower down: Hanworth Villa extended their lead in CCL-PN with a 1-0 win at Egham. In Div One of that league Bagshot stay at the foot with a 0-4 loss at home (Camberley) to Beffont & Feltham.
Leaders London Lions lost only their 2nd game of the campaign in a thrilling 5-4 reverse at Rayners Lane.

In HELL-P RWBT were well beaten 1-4 by leaders Cribbs - and Ash Utd picked up a point at home to Petersfield Town in Wessex One.

Would be a bit of a trek West Lancs nr Preston? ....so instead ....bit of history...Vase Winners in 07-08 vs Lowestoft under their former name Kirkham and Wesham ...and of course have been the first club to win both NL Competitions... lifting the Trophy a couple of years ago vs Orient.

Nice
Crazy some of the places Brackley have to travel to. They're just in the Northern section.

And I if I think of Fylde I think of Bill Beaumont. For some reason I retain the information that he used to play for them !

- Leaders Littlehampton looked out of sorts and couldn’t handle their livelier hosts.
- Journey back was relatively trouble free – indoors by 19:45 – still have to do long-trips of almost similar distances, down to Saltdean and Seaford, to move towards completing the top two divisions of the league.

Excellent win and a very healthy crowd at Basingstoke - certainly drawing more in at Winklebury than they were at the Camrose.

Hartley Wintney into the second round of the Trophy, first time in their history.

Wow, some crowd at Notts County.

At Wantage Fc tonight for their Southern league Div 1 central game against Berkhamsted. Hopefully a few goals !!
Edit F-T 1-1 Wantage the better team i thought and played far better than their league position suggested.
