Surprise, surprise. No doubt Frome heard nothing back from the FA on their above letters.

Also, from the first open letter, how come steps 3-4 aren’t allowed to play league football but all other steps are?

Much reduced Boxing Day Calendar for this year - normally - I'd be seeking out doubles etc but there appears to be nothing below STEP02 in our featured area - league-wise.

Saturday 26th December

NL Festive Fixtures not currently ‘bugged’ off…..

FA Vase 3rd Round
Buckland v Tavistock

Sun 27th 3rd Round
Christchurch v Falmouth Town
Brimscombe & Thrupp v Bridgwater Town

Binfield tweeting earlier in the week

Due to the current tier 4 government guidelines put in place over the weekend, our game against Deal Town won’t be going ahead as planned this Saturday.

A rearranged date will be followed! We will keep you all updated once we know more information.

NAT
Aldershot Town v Woking BCD
Dover Athletic v Dagenham & Redbridge BCD
Eastleigh v Weymouth BCD
Maidenhead United v Wealdstone BCD
Torquay United v Yeovil Town - just for info - 'Gulls' do seem to be allowing a restricted number of fans in - advanced purchases only I'd expect - and no T3/T4 fans admitted
NATN
Kettering Town v Brackley Town BCD
NATS
Chippenham Town v Bath City - "Supporters are allowed to attend, however you MUST purchase a ticket beforehand."
Concord Rangers v Billericay Town BCD
12:30 Dorking Wanderers v Hampton & Richmond Borough - presumably BCD but available to stream live
Dulwich Hamlet v Welling United BCD
13:00Oxford City v Slough Town BCD

...lots of fixtures still listed for 2nd Jan, on some platforms but doubt they'll proceed - will post what I know when I know it! 8)
..some individual Leagues are releasing counter-statements ....

[HELLENIC announced no fixtures before the 15th across all of their divisions Premier, One & Two
WESSEX league saying they are reviewing on 18th Jan - expect most of the others may follow suit .....]

The following statement is from the FA following our repeated requests for the COVID situation to be taken into regard with player, team and local safety.

The FA Statement in full
"In accordance with the attached communication sent to all Clubs on 20 November and FA Trophy Rule 11 of the Competition Rules also attached, any postponed match in the Third Round Proper must be played within the five day postponement window (on or before 24 December) and there will be no flexibility for a postponed match to be rescheduled beyond this date.

As communicated to your Club yesterday it was confirmed that DCMS are content that all Buildbase FA Trophy Third Round Proper fixtures can continue to be played, as scheduled, under the attached FA Trophy Protocol, which is in line with the latest DCMS guidance for elite sport.

As your Club have now confirmed to The FA in the email below that you will not be fulfilling the fixture this evening you are deemed to have forfeited the match your opponents will progress to the next round.

Maidstone United are copied in on this email to make them aware of your decision and that they will now receive a walkover to the next round."

For clarity to our supporters, we have not chosen to forfeit our match. We have been removed for asking for a postponement due to the now UK wide safety concerns. We disagree with the FA's decision to remove us at this point and will continue to ask for further discussions.

Frome doing themselves absolutely no favours at at all going down the 'open letter' route. Slagging the FA off in public before they get a chance to respond, in the hope of special favour? That's hardly going to gain an sympathy from them, is it?

The same rules are there for everyone and plenty of others have had to forfeit cup ties for Covid reasons. Play or forfeit. Bit harsh, but there's no chance of the Cups completing without it.

Hoping Torquay can reclaim their league place this season.

Good to see Yeovil having some good news at last.

Amazing for Hungerford, seems they and Slough are swapping seasons, last time round Slough were the PO hopefuls and Hungerford were the odds on for relegation...

What’s the betting at the end of it all that the loss of so many step 3-4 league fixtures will mean no promotion/relegation again.

FC Halifax Town v Hartlepool United
Stockport County v Altrincham
Weymouth v Eastleigh
Woking v Aldershot Town
Yeovil Town v Torquay United

STEP03/04 – following Government announcement 30th Dec re adjustments to Tier system:
Isthmian League (30th Dec) unanimously agreed to continue the suspension – will give clubs 14 days notice of a possible resumption date.
Southern League agree to continue with suspension will update clubs in due course & following any further statements - regarding a possible resumption around 16th Jan.

Earliest rumoured ‘resumption’ dates for STEP05/06 etc. (to be confirmed):
CCL – suspended until further notice – poss. 30th Jan
Hellenic – NOT before 15th Jan
Southern Combination (Sussex) – were reportedly reviewing today (31st Dec) for a possible restart on 9th Jan – no updates that I have found yet – would have thought unlikely

Wessex – reviewing on 18th Jan
Western – as per an announcement yesterday (30th Dec) – suspending all fixtures up to 23/01 – some (mostly non-Somerset based clubs) may play on that date following a Review - to be held around the 13th.

WILTS – suspended until further notice

Now down to the barest of bones for NL today - - no featured sides in action other than in NAT South:

Braintree Town v Dartford
Dorking Wanderers v Hemel Hempstead Town
Hungerford Town v Maidstone United
Oxford City v Welling United

.... Sky ticker tape yesterday PM were reporting the three leagues covering STEPS 3 & 4 were considering suspending the season completely - as of now.

In the FA Cup there are 4 NL survivors:

Marine v Mourinho  tomorrow late PM
Stockport v Wet Sham on Monday night
... And STEP02 Chorley vs Rooney's Rookies this lunchtime

...draw for Rounds 4&5 being done together to help with TV scheduling apparently?

There is a growing momentum from clubs in steps 3-6 to take the last 2 seasons( this and last) PPG to decide the outcome- the proposal would see clubs promoted but not relegated.

...and hasn't that got the NLM hardcore all of a froth - they do love a dispute over numbers and allocations - particularly if there is a North/South aspect to the debate......

Precious little going ahead today what with VIDS and weather:

NATS
Dartford v Hungerford
Slough v Braintree

FA Trophy 2nd Rnd - I think..... not sure where the rest of the fixtures have been scheduled only appears to be half the round in play this w/e ... May have a sniff about later..... might just be the Beeb not listing them all?
