Little 'local' again

by One Beer is never enough. » 06 Jul 2010 14:02

Former Royals Glenn Little and Scott Murray now training with Aldershot. Joins a few more of our old boys, Soares and Dean Morgan, and no doubt a few others!

They'll be great additions at Aldershot. Both can do a job at that level still, and Blakey was never the quickest anyway, but he could trick his way past people repeatedly. May even take in a game or two to see how he's getting on if he signs.

I do hope you aren't confusing Aldershot FC 1926-1992 with Aldershot Town FC who play at the same ground, wear the same colours and who were formed in the immediate aftermath of the demise of ATFC. Because only an absolute imbecile would ever claim that those two clubs were even remotely linked.

I do find players' career paths interesting. Little not so much, he's old and crippled - but how old is Murray now? Doesn't seem long ago he was considered one of the best players in the league, especially at Bristol City. I guess time flies, it must be 5 or 6 seasons since then by now.

And ATFC have been claiming the history of AFC, surely they can't claim those wonderful sojourns to the bottom end of Division 3 as their own?

Oops, typo. Don't worry fans of plucky north Hampshire football teams, ATFC have not gone the same way as the entirely unlinked AFC who played at the same ground and wore the same colours and boasted the same nickname.

LOL@ Aldershot.

I'm still trying to figure out what that means? Has any player followed that path? Or is it just a 'we had loads of Brentford players now they've got loads of Reading players' type thing?
