I wouldn't be as concerned if the teams I considered to be in a very similar position to us hadn't greatly improved their squads.

Go on Royal Rother! I agree with you. I don't think you can say the 106 squad is better than our current squad. To me, it is very close.
Our current squad hasn't played together through a whole championship season, so you can't use championship performance as a basis to say that the 106 squad was better.
And a big LOL at people giving credit to Southampton and Wet Sham, who have spent massively over the odds for players. West Ham's defence is shocking, ours isn't. We shouldn't fear either of them. We're the same side that beat both of them + Pog, Guthrie, McCleary... LOL
