Doyler
arreff Doyler says that if one of our strikers gets 10-15 goals this season we should stay up comfortably. Well Yakubu scored 17 last year for Blackburn and they didn't.

I said should, not will.

I think it needs to be closer to 15 and a second player on around 10. Kitson got 11 when we were relegated didn't he? So even should seems a little strong for a top scorer with 10, 11 or 12. But 20 goal a season st rikers are virtually a myth for Prem teams outside the big 4 - 6

TheSiege Or would be a brilliant piece of business by a club who have a good scouting system and are prepared to spend money to back up their beliefs. A 20-goal a season Prem player would virtually guarantee RFC survival in the first season - that is what we all want. Don't decry someone who believes that we should be looking for that uncut diamond!

Quite ridiculous. Only 3 players went over 20 prem goals last season. Not going to happen.

We could sign both Owen and Heskey on frees and re-unite one of the best strike partnerships in premier league history

Quinn and Phillips, Yorke and Cole, Berbatov and Keane, Crouch and Defoe, Pogrebnyak and Le Fondre? Most top partnerships seem to rely on a big man little man combination

TheSiege He may still go to Stoke because he likes the Barcelona way of playing! (For anyone who does not understand this post - It is a joke!).

I wouldn't mind betting that these ignorant homosapiens still don't understand Sieve even after you've divulged the information that it's a joke.

TheSiege When RFC need hungry 20-goals a season goalscorers just to stay in the division, why is anyone talking about a retired racehorse owner?

We don't need a 20+ goalscorer, that statement is incorrect.

Agreed, if one of our strikers gets 10-15 goals this season we should stay up comfortably.

If we keep conceding stupid goals like we are doing at the moment a 40 goal a season striker may not be enough.

I dreamt last night that nothing was announced all day, then in the evening the website uploaded a video of Brian and co in an Irish pub being like "sorry we didn't do any exciting signings last minute and all that!" then Owen trots up with a round for them all, big reveal! Totally ITK. Will happen. Fact.

I'd be very surprised if we're in the picture at all, save for Owen once saying "I saw a sign post for Reading whilst driving to Ascot Racecourse."

Doesn't need to sign for anyone today. Free agents don't need to be bought before deadline day.
