+1 Although it would be nice to get a pacey striker ala Zaha but I wont lose any sleep if this is the squad we go with.

Would be gobsmacked if we didn't at least try a cheeky loan offer for Gylfi, given that he might not even make the bench behind Moutinho and Dembele

Im not sure on Jermaine Jenas, seemed to have bags of potential and quality but faded away as quickly as he appeared, reminds me a bit of Kieron Dyer.

But in McDermott we trust.

Sigurdsson will be wasted at Spurs...

I`d hate to say this, but he would have been better off at Liverpool.

Arsenal would have been a good fit for him

I'm not as confident as you in the squad we have.

Keeper - couldn't get any interest from prem sides despite that come and get me plea
Right backs - no top flight experience
Centre backs - both unproven at this level
Left backs - both past their best
Wingers - no top flight experience
Central midfield - a very mixed bag of no experience and signed as unable to get regular football at other club
Forwards - POG apart, we have Roberts, ALF, Hunt and Church.

I'm really not sure that this is a solid premier league squad, I think it's more a case of fingers crossed.

I wonder whether we'd be just as concerned if we saw our new signings all being signed today?
If we'd seen coming in today : Pog, Guthrie, Gunter, McCleary & Shorey, bet we'd all be excited.

We have a decent squad which should have beaten Stoke and were unlucky not to get a point from Chelsea.

Games aren't played on paper though. What you tend to find is that certain players step up to the plate in the premiership. There will be a few surprises before the season is out.

Totally agree with you. We won games last season that we really didn't deserve to win, you just don't see that so often in the prem though. Quality usually shines through.

I think so. Had a bad experience with oven chips, not sure I will ever fully recover.

Marseilles have turned down a loan bid from us for Jordan Ayew.

Everyone has strengthened further since the season began, we have made a change. I'm surprised McDermott is happy with the team. Our 25 will include players that had little playing time last season.

We know we are are careful club but we are still weak in areas.
