Good luck to him.

I hope he enjoys being on loan to Grimsby for 2 years

Did you read the article? It says we've signed him from Grimsby, not that he's going on Loan there. :roll:

"Reading are aiming to bring through 50 per cent of their first team from their Academy in the future"

That sounds exciting! But I guess that's what having a category one academy is about.

Well! That's 5 youths already in this summer:

Zac Berry;
Lewis Collins;
Samuel Fridjonsson;
Aleksandar Gogic; and
Tomas Urbancic.

With the last 3 publicised by the club and the other two in the media. Heightened presence can only help us, as well as going for Cat 1.

Reading are aiming to bring through 50 per cent of their first team from their Academy in the future and that can only be good thing for me

Good to hear from an RFC point of view, and also shows that this lad is fairly grounded in choosing us over the likes of Liverpool who no doubt will have been offering a more financially lucrative opportunity in the short term.

One of my sources has indicated that he rocked up to the training ground in one of these:

The fact he turned down a new ofer from the Mariners and also that there's not even a hint that he will be loaned back in that whole article says otherwise, F*cktard.

Children, behave.

There is no need for the abuse.

Neither of you really knows what the club intends. Mind you, the likelihood of a youngster going on loan rather than learning with our coaches is slim.

You're completely, moronically missing the point. Nobody was suggesting that the article was saying that he was going back, but were instead alluding to the development policy of the club and the loan system they use. Clearly miles over your head.

Actually Ginge, no, not really. The thought had occurred to me we might loan him out, but if he's good enough for us to see potential in him, I doubt very much we'd loan him back to a side playng Conference football. How is that going to develop him at a decent rate? Maybe the club would send him out in League 2 or the lower half of League 1, but sending him back to Grimsby wouldn't benefit the lad very much.

Isn't he 16, won't go anywhere this season I would have thought.

I think you're spot on there. He'll be with the Youth or Rezzies won't he?
