So have we really got any money?

by EverHopeful » 15 Sep 2013 21:19

No signings after the first early three, admittedly big wages, if not big fees, which is fine but the lack of activity since is worrying..........especially with the strong rumours that there is no money to complete the buy out........can we afford anything else as after today, there is much required.

I know no facts but if we seriously want to challenge, then someone creative, another goal scorer is a minimum. If Russians have no dosh then we are ****** anyway but a bit of a statement of intent would be greatly appreciated to prove to all us unimportant week in, week out fans, that there is a positive plan. Surely, even with wages, we haven't spent all of the parachute payments (unlike QPR & Wigan)!!!!

For a team that AZ said would be competing for an instant Premier return, it seems like a very strange way of going about it....and he has gone very very quiet.

He's had the luxury of the talk, now its time to walk the walk.....or walk

Do you not realise how expensive it is to have children these days. Nursery fees alone range between £600-£1100 per month. Anton has just had his first child with his delightful wife. I heard his card was declined in John Lewis on Saturday. Give the guy a break.

Thing is I know a lots been invested in the youth but the first team needs help too, he's only been with us a little over a year and half and yes he got roberts and provided wages but I think a lot of us would be happy to see a 3m signing or something. The takeover is supposed to happen this month, so we will see in the next few weeks if anything is announced. Maybe anton doesn't want to show loads of intent otherwise sjm might say I'm staying as he knows he will make more money by staying. So maybe after sjm goes anton will pump some money into the first team. The lack of action is fustrating, yeah sissoko would be great but hes not what we need at all, a creative player, striker and centre back are still needed.

Somebody has suggested he will use the parachute payment to buy the other 49% shares off SJM! I only half caught the comment on Radio Berks this afternoon but assume it was said in jest....I hope.

The lack of transfers towards the end of the transfer window probably has more to do with the board identifying unrealistic targets, than a lack of intent. QPR just have a reputation for paying massive wages and are probably a more attractive package than us, as a result.

To be honest, i'm rather glad that we didn't buy anyone. In January, all the teams in the bottom half of the premiership will be looking at the top scoters in the championship to boost their squads. And we might get to see some more academy graduates get some first team football.

What's the point of an academy if we pay are way back to the premiership.
