I notice Adam Clayton still hasn't joined Boro. Hope for us yet?

No we're apparently after Dean Hammond. Danny Williams is a better player than Clayton anyway - least he is when he isn't spending his days getting to know the medical services of Berkshire a lot better.

They're completely different players.

Clayton would make my summer, but I can't see it. :(

Norwood in and prob AM out. So we be planning a couple more signings. Who is next? A CB and quick striker is needed.

If AM goes we will have 6m in the bank with ALF gone. How much will we spend before the tranny window closes.

Ideally CB, LB and a striker, should be able to drum up £20k for Akpan to help towards the funds

So we still 'hope' to add a 'few' more to the squad before the deadline. That's encouraging! (re: Crosby on BBCRB)

We have to add quality this week. The window shuts Monday week? Our big players are not back until November ish. Guthrie maybe back after Int break but he keeps breaking down. At the very least an experienced CB and a pacy striker. Ferdinand still needs time to get match fit.

At least we have hope that we may buy someone this week. The last 2 windows were fairly quiet. Yes AM is off but so what! The money will be useful. So we need people sat in the hotel bar spying or behind a lampost near the stadium with their I phone ready!!

So if we get £6m for McCarthy, 3/4 for Morrison. Is it understandable to expect £5m to be spent on players this week? I would suggest not. Doubt we will though.

It would be at most other clubs, but this is Reading. If we spend £3m this week I'll be stunned.

Don't think it will be £6m upfront for Mccarthy

i am wondering if SJM who we all love but let's be honest has been a tight oxf*rd with his money in recent years is advising caution. Due to the takeover not going through yet. The FL have not given the nod yet.. if something was to go wrong remember we have no money. we would need tge money from SM and AM to get us through the season.

We desperately need 1 or 2 more but perhaps we won't get. Also why woukd you throw money (new crew) at it if you are told by the fl to bog off.

We do have a lot of quality at the club but they are injured and who knows when they will return and in what state. We also have a waster in RD on big money getting more porky and laughing on his sofa playing games, not to mention the Pog who is overpaid and overrated. Getting rid of those two this week would help.

Min we need is an experienced CB and a quick striker. Let's avoid a silly relegation scrap. If we had McCleary, Guthrie, HRK, Obita, Karacan and Williams all fit we would not need to worry. BUT we don't.

Even with everybody fit we are still 2 good quality players short minimum. Another defender (CB or LB) and a forward .

Intrigued by what business will be done before Monday night. Adkins says club will be 'very active'. Bold words #readingfc

Last deadline day he said he would be asleep by 11pm, this Monday he says he'll be ordering late night pizza to the stadium #readingfc

He wouldn't get drawn into names. I said groundswell of opinion from fans is a striker is needed. He agreed #readingfc
