Emergency loan window

by Tommio » 03 Sep 2014 10:49

I know it's a bit early but what does everyone want to happen in this window? Personally I'd like a winger, a left back and maybe even a quick striker.

I dont personally think we need a striker. Especially as NA only insists on playing one and we have Pog, Murray and Cox.

A left back is definately needed. A left mid would be handy but I cant see NA doing it atm as he seems happy with Taylor/Edwards filling in till some of the others come back. He likes playing players out of position as we well know and we've got a squad full of midfielders (granted a few out injured) who he seems more than happy to put out on the left.

I'd love to see a left back to give Obita a chance at LW.

I'd think cox is better as an attacking midfielder, so if we do play him there then there is enough space for another striker.

The board signed off on two more players, one was season loan and the other perm, so I expect we'll try and get one or two in on loan. A LB most definitely.

The permanent was bakambu, the other was a defender that went to another prem team, according to Charles watts. A couple of wingers that come to mind that maybe available on loan are Serge Gnabry from arsenal and possibly Suso from Liverpool.

The defender was most probably Zeki Fryers who went from Spurs to Palace for £3m. He is a left back.

Loan a left back and we're gravy IMO.

GK: Federici, Andersen, Lincoln
RB: Gunter, Long
LB: Obita, LB, Griffin
CB: Pearce, Ferdinand
CB: Hector, Cooper
CM: Norwood,
CM: Kuhl, Akpan
LM: Mackie, Taylor, Obita
RM: Edwards, Tanner, Stacey
AM: Cox, Taylor, Tanner
ST: Murray, Cox

All bar three have already got pitch time.

We look a little light in midfield still, but thats got to be expected with four injuries in one position and hopefully we'll see Guthrie or Tshi fit by the time we play again. I dont think we can justify the expense of even more midfielders. Again, a little light up top, but hopefully we'll see Pog back after the break and Blackman not too far behind.

It's the players we've got fit to cover the team. I forgot Tanner.

Unless he desperately wants to play midfield, I'd leave Obita at LB.

He shone at left back in the second half of last season, whereas in the first half of the season at left wing he didnt really stand out as much. He could develop into a really good left back if given the chance.

IMO last season he reminded me a lot of ryan bertrand when we had him on loan from chelsea.

I'd like to hope that Cardwell and Novakovich would get a chance before we went to the U10s.
