SCIAG
Froomes He'd be a great signing. Mills and Hector >>>>>>> Pearce and Hector.

Mills has all of Hector's flaws and more. Both of them need to play with a defender who reads the game well and can cover them if they miss a header. Ingimarsson, Pearce, Gorkss, Zurab.

Or even better Dariusz Dvowcyck - simply the best defender to ever wear a Royals shirt.

Hoping this rumour gets massively HOOOOOOOOOOFED diagonally down the pitch and out of play, even if there are a number of easy and more sensible ways for the rumour to play on.

Spot on.

Mills has lots of the skills and attributes to be a really good centre half and will have some great games (and he had a few for us) but he's just not the consistent performer we need at the back, especially to play alongside Hector.

Plus you can't guarantee he won't pick up a suspension at some stage.

You can virtually guarantee he will, in fact.

Based on some folks death penalty opinions on here....I despair of your hypocrisy

Doncasters player of the season, our sometimes captain....hounded by many.....but

A decent acquisition again

ladida_gunner_graham Complete and utter tw@. Would be gutted if he came back....don't care if he is any good. Has everyone forgot him giving us the finger after YET ANOTHER crap long ball ended up in Y25?

Was that after "we" started moaning, groaning and booing our own player?

Almost certainly, yes. There are only so many vainglorious, Hollywood passes that can be tolerated. It felt like about one in every five ever found its intended target, so yes, I am not ashamed to say I was one of those who directed abuse his way for this shameless indulgence. His reaction was sadly no surprise to me, nor many others. I still maintain he's a tw@ we don't need.

Matt Mills released by Bolton

by 5cotland » 15 May 2015 09:52

Along with 13 other players including Jermaine Beckford. Maybe a look in? I see there is a mixed reaction to who would accept him back

Thinks there's a good chance he could join now, although that's just spacculation on my part.

At the time I think it seemed to be obvious we were trying to knock it in behind the right-back for Kebe to run onto, and Mills had been tasked with supplying the hoofs for that purpose. Because he was getting abused by the fans, he threw up the finger because we couldn't see that he was just following orders. Not saying it was the right way to react of course. That's the way I saw it at the time.

In that situation though, where the tactic isn't working, or you keep getting it wrong, the better players will take it upon themselves to change what they're doing and risk a bollocking from the manager. We won that game in the end anyway, and he apologised. Not everyone will react the same way in every situation, so I never got very annoyed with him for that.

He wasn't a bad centre back in the Championship then, but he's never kicked on and developed any further, so for that reason I wouldn't want him. I'd rather keep Hector and Pearce together and keep Jake Cooper (who I think has the potential to be very good) as the third centre back for next year.
