RUMOUR: Richard O'Donnell

We're looking at the Walsall keeper as a replacement for Feds, according to our brothers over at the Tilehurst End.

21 clean sheets in 54 games and their player of the season. And he's free.

That sounds pretty positive. Probably cost 2/3rds Feds wages too. Or less.

Yeah, he did the business for me on FM. Sold him to Real Madrid for £15m

Actually, 21 clean sheets in 54 games is pretty decent in a team that finished 14th.

I'd take him over Feds now to be honest.

Decent keeper and will cost a lot less in wages. He can then compete with Andersen.

Heard at the match today that the club are not considering Andersen as a potential Federici replacement and we've long known that he wants to be first choice, so I can't see him staying around.

If Federici goes, we're definitely looking at an external replacement initially, so this guy seems a likely signing. First time we'll have signed a goalkeeper to be first choice in over a decade.

Take that with a pinch of salt.

Either way it's going to be interesting to see if Moore, Henly or Lincoln will take over no. 2 duties. Presume it'd be Henly but could the club consider bringing in an older player towards the end of their career for a season....

Did Taylor retire in the end or is he still going? Poor goalkeeper but an expert at sitting on the bench at the highest level.

Andersen's done himself no big favours with his few starts so this wouldn't surprise me.

Not really about O'Donnell but not worth making a new thread for either!

Alex McCarthy on for Rob Green after 33 minutes for QPR v Newcastle. On 45 minutes he makes, according to BBC site, a great save reminiscent of the Banks save from Pele!!

Just asked Saddlers, and she says aboutvthe best keeper they have ever had. They would hate to see him leave, and he could step.up a level
