Return of Sidwell??

by paddy20 » 23 Dec 2015 09:02

Mark Hughes apparently is ready to release Sidwell in January and he should be available for a nominal fee. May be a good way to bolster up our midfield?

Sidwell would be a great addition, he would be a top player in the Championship even at 33.

I'd rather Tishbola was playing, although I guess Williams is the rarest equivalent to Sidwell. If we assume Quinn, Norwood and Tishbola are in the team it only leaves a right sided midfield space and I don't think that is where a 33 year old Sidwell would sit.

Perhaps we should look at Harper as well...

Saw him play for Basingstoke last Saturday. And this should appeal to you (given your location) under the management of Michael Gilkes. Head and shoulders above the rest of them.

Would take him back but when everyone is fit we are spoilt for choice in CM and I wouldn't want him hindering Tish's development.

This. The only way we can accomodate him is if someone like Williams is off-loaded - and I'd take that!

Williams is OOC at the end of the season, so wouldn't be surprised to see him leave.

We surely don't want all our old players back? Can't we just move on (new manager aside)?

Can someone please tell me why everyone on here seems to think that the 20 year old Aaron Tshibola, who has half a season of League 2 experience and 12 promising (don't get me wrong) appearances for Reading (not even starts) warrant being classified as an important first team player.

We have a USA international with Bundesliga experience, a Rep of Ireland and Northern Ireland international on the books.

Get real and stop trying to be the one who called Tshibola's promise first. He's not worthy of a regular slot yet

Sidwell great signing to bolster the numbers needed for a promotion push.

Anyone that has seen Tshibola play on more than occasion can tell he's good enough.

It's that simple.
