Nameless
Gunny Fishcake Any player who plays for us and shows any potential always go it's just the way it is , we're just a glorified stepping stone as are nearly every other team on the entire football league and most of the Premiership

Unnecessary use of the word 'nearly' there.
Football players move clubs. It's how it works.

can get rid of the most as well.

if Barcelona/Madrid want any player, at any club, that player is off

I think one of the reasons folk on here get on Gunter's back so much is down to the way we play these days. We haven't played with any width since McD was given the sack last time. We're not using proper wide men so, more often than not, there isn't anyon forward of Gunts wide right for him to pass to, so the sideways ball is usually the only option. He's not the sort of player who's going to try taking opposition players on and dribble around them. Our previous full backs looked so much better because there tended to be genuine wingers supporting them and providing an outlet.

Works hard but cannot put a cross in to save his life and the only pass he seems to have is that first time pump over the top and down the wings.

Easily replacable and would actually be good to find someone who can cross the ball for the wages we are paying Gunter.

If we are looking at a signing for experience in the team though ... Tony Hibbert?

We won't be able to afford a better right-back than Gunter...

And if Tony Hibbert is a serious suggestion as a starting right back, can I have the number of your dealer?

He's there to defend not cross the ball and he is a welsh international. Go ahead, find better!

If one of his qualities is that he is a good athlete then he should be at least a little bit better at crossing the ball when he gets around the box, otherwise what is the point of him overlapping?

It creates space and pulls a defender of the winger.

Excellent news but when you get up there, at least on occasion, you have to be able to cross the ball as well.

If I'm the defender Gunter is not going to distract me from the winger because I know that even if he does receive the ball he won't be able to hurt my team so I just continue to mark the winger.

I see that Brian wants Chris Gunter to sign a new contract also the player himself wants to stay at Reading. If that happens there will be many unhappy fans, of which I will not be one. Why do so many fans dislike him, when manager after manager plays him so much? If he is s bad as some on these pages think, why hasn't any of the managers (Welsh managers included) not replaced him or got rid of him.

Gunter has his detractors but if HNA? is to go by, most would prefer him to stay.

I'd rather he moved on.

I personally think that we need to keep Gunter. If we let him go then i believe we have lost one of the best players in our team. I started the #giveguntsacontract on Twitter because we need him to stay.

As I've said many times before, he is a very good athlete and that is about it. Poor header of the ball, can't cut out a cross at our end and can't put one in at theirs.

Oh and he takes about 30 minutes to take a throw in.

On current form 2 out of those are wrong and full backs aren't usually all that in the air (given that they only play full back because they are too short to be centre backs, too slow to be wingers and not skilful enough to play in midfield. Luckily they are too clever to play in goal)

The only difference between Murty and Gunter is that Murty used to shout a lot.

Not the only difference, Murty has a Championship winners medal.
