Speculation - Tom Carroll

by Royal_jimmy » 26 May 2016 13:40

Clever and very creative player. Could work brilliantly with Tshibola next season with Evans as back up.

Also available on a free and easily good enough for this level and potentially a premier league regular in years to come.

Should be a no-brainer to offer him a deal, wages may be on the high side though!

So you dismiss my Sanogo topic and post this? Logout, stop posting, take a few day's rest and get your head together, cos right now it's buried deep down in the sand.

Part of the EP's list of players that Reading should be bringing in. Includes also the names; Rico Henry, Romaine Sawyers, Adrian Mariappa and Chris Forrester.

http://www.getreading.co.uk/sport/footb ... s-11380033

Getting any of those names would be pretty good business. I would suggest that someone like Rico Henry would be priority as I'm unconvinced by Obita at left back so some good strong competition would do the pair of them a shed load of good.

Was very impressed with Sawyers in the cup game with Walsall and perhaps adding Bradshaw for a three man grab from the west midland outfit would not be out of the question....

would be a good signing, but wages as usual would be a problem and therefore I think it will never happen.

Carroll surely wouldn't be a free transfer would he?

Isn't he of an age where we'd end up having to pay a tribunal fee, which considering his pedigree, I'd expect to be reasonably high.

Tidy little player though and would probably be a good addition to the midfield if we could get him. I'd imagine he'll end up at a bigger club than us though.

He's 23 so there would be no need for compensation.

I thought anyone under 24 on June 30th was liable to a fee as long as their current team had offered them a contract on better terms

I'm pretty sure it's 24 yes.

Just checked and he's 24 this week so if it's under 24 and not including 24 then it seems he will be a free. That'll make a good signing for someone!

Didn't the tribunal thing get replaced when academy rules came in and set compo was established based on your academy grade and the grade they were coming from.

Not sure about that, think the amount of compensation is based on how the club improved the player and how often they played ect. Hence why Ings is costing Liverpool so much.
