pretty obvious really. Build the team he wants in the cheaper positions, making it good enough to ensure safety. Then next season spend all the cash on the more expensive postions (striker) to help push for promotion.

Ah well. If all that has been said is true, we were going to be signing a player who would potentially be out for up to 13 weeks, and that doesn't even include any potential injuries. Can't blame the club for pulling the plug imo.
Not sure whether to expect us to bring anyone else in now. We probably should given the fact when the transfer window shuts we can no longer bring in loanees (I only realised this today). Brian may have a late night on his hands tomorrow.
