£3m would certainly be a hard figure to turn down for Williams.

Very useful money to go towards strengthening up front.

I like Williams, but we now have quite a few midfield options and he'll be one of the higher earners.

Auf Wiedersehn from me.

Good player, shame to lose him but if £3m is true and he is out of contract this summer then too good to say no to, we have plenty of cover there and the fee could be used for a much needed striker or two before the day is out.

About right, and get those ridiculous wages off our books. I'm happy with that. Also rather see Kelly get game time to develop.

He offers an energy but very little footballing intellect and therefore waists his energy down pointless avenues. Can't shoot for shit, poor first touch, soft, all in all just not overly good.

Less disappointed than losing Tish and Norwood but hope the money will be reinvested.

Looks like I'm alone in not liking this at all.

All well and good saying '£3m brilliant striker dough'

But in reality may imbalance the work done this summer. He's a character in the team. We don't have as much cover as some seem to be suggesting.

£3m is a decent fee for the guy. Good player but if it means we can invest it on a striker then I am all for selling!

We're building a squad to challenge next season. We're a few games in. It wont hurt. He's also free in 10 months, and wont sign a new deal as he'll need to take a cut, and wont fancy it, as HRK didn't. Sell, reinvest if we can, and guve Kelly more game time. He's our future, not Williams.

Exactly - he's got good energy but lacks any ideas - he'll run with the ball and when he stops he doesn't actually know what to do with it

Swift can do that for us but with a better outcome

Whilst I agree to a certain extent; an injury to Swift or Evans would see us fcuked with everyone moaning that we sold Tish, Norwood & Williams.

We need to think about the present season too. We do have academy talent who will get good game time in the trophy etc.

All too easy to say it won't hurt; then pick up a couple of injuries (inevitably) and the formation needing to change as a result.

Furthermore, there are some animals in this league who would chew Kelly up. He needs time. We've got to let the younger heads develop, that goes for Swift and Evans too!
