Jaap Stam to Leicester?

I've heard Leicester made an approach for Jaap last week. Ranieri has just been sacked.

Assuming wind up. However I'd be happy if we got Gary Rowett (perhaps a better bet for Leicester)

Would you risk your Premiership survival by taking a punt........... One thinks not.

Stam hasn't proved himself yet.

Currently 20th favourite; 28/1 (SkyBet). Surely no need to worry.

It wont happen this time but it will one day, probably sooner than we'd all like, that's football nowadays

I could easily see Stam going to a relegation threatened side, especially if it were Leicester, we are still in the promotion chase but have some tough fixtures coming up that could feasibly see us drop out of the play-off positions temporarily at least, arguably I'd say Leicester have more chance of being in the Premier League next season than we do so perhaps he would believe it is worth the gamble.

I don't think Jaap is the manager you appoint mid-season, especially late on as it would take time for him get a new team playing his style, especially for Leicester who are used to playing direct, non-possession based football. I would be more concerned about him leaving in the summer if we do not go up.

I don't think Leicester can afford him.

In any case, they are not a big enough draw for Stam.

It didn't take him much time to get us going though. First 6 months and we are top 4. He's a fast starter.

I don't want to praise Stam too much though and sell him to the Leicester board. I would rate Stam as a very average manager and if he were to go to Leicester would most likely get them relegated as he would change their style.

No chance. They need a quick fix, I dont think Stam introducing his style of play at this stage of there season would bring any kind of results. Imagine trying to get Huth & Morgan to pass it out from the back.

Sacking the world manager of the year who won the PL 8 months ago

To replace him with somebody who has managed about 30 professional games in total?

Nah, don't think so

Yes but he had a whole pre-season to get us playing the way he wanted to. He wouldn't have that time if he jumped ship now. As another post above states, could you imagine him walking in and getting Huth and Morgan to pass out from the back.

Mancini or Rowett will get the gig I would've thought.

Absolutely no panic around Stam leaving.
