TiagoIlori Exclusives has now reported the move has been hijacked by an unknown rival. I still have the feeling he’ll sign to be honest, hopefully Kia works his magic

Ah the battle of the ITKs - Exclusives says it's been hijacked yet Eddie says it is really done. Be interesting* to see who is right.

Both could be correct. The deal could well have been agreed but the EFL won’t sanction it yet so Bournemouth see a chance of getting him.

We know that Bournemouth are interested. Obviously if Brooks leaves then they will want somebody to replace him.

It seems he’ll be staying, no one will pay 40m for him. Worth baring in mind Bournemouth haven’t signed anyone yet as far as I know.

No, they haven't but are supposedly actively looking for reinforcements especially if King and Brooks join the long list of departures.

One of those utter gimps who do the Sky Sports News transfer rumours in the mornings has said Riquelme to Bournemouth is a done deal.

Looks like he’ll be signing for Bournemouth now. oxf*rd joke the EFL took so long to let us sign him when Bournemouth are not in a good financial position either.

Yeah, I mean, it isn't like they have any parachute payments or anything after being relegated...

Parachute payments, fees for Wilson and Ake. Think they have a bit more clout than us!

Not at all bothered at the prospect of being gazumped on a youngster who i haven’t seen play and, given he is a winger, probably wouldn’t get regular starts as Reading don’t really use wingers.

More annoyed by not really knowing whether it was working out a loan deal with Atletico or waiting around for the FL to approve a deal or something else entirely that has allowed another club to come in.

It does all feel opaque and hard to understand. Last summer we had a soft embargo, then found £10m+ at the deadline which was waved through.

This year, we've released a number of high earners, mainly gone for free transfers and loans but they've blocked one of them.

If he is going elsewhere so be it but as said, there must be an underlying reason why this deal hasn't gone through but the Gibson one did - must be cost. Perhaps there was an expectation of a large loan fee for him or an obligation to buy for X million that meant the EFL wouldn't sign it off.

Ejaria was probably only allowed to go through as we had entered into a legally binding contract to purchase him - this may well have annoyed the EFL so as to not allow any further registrations without players leaving.

Some nationals are reporting that we are also in prime position for Piggott but that can only happen if squad players move on.

Looks like we are paying for the largese of previous CEOs or one particular CEO.

It's infuriating we're still paying for Gourlay's shitness.

Ah well. Hopefully a lesson for all the twitter fans giving it large to other clubs supporters about this signing. Don't celebrate too early.

I know its face saving now but do we really want a player who just jumps at the opportunity to play for another club? Trained with us for 4 weeks but doesn't fancy staying part of a team who have just won the first 3 games of the season? Big meh.

Just make sure we boo him when we play Bournemouth at home.

It depends. He needs to know where he stands and we cannot tell him. The season has started and he wants some certainty. Can’t blame him.

We need to cut our losses on some players and move them on ASAP.

Well. Cant be that hard to say "be patient bro. We just lost Swift for 3 months. You are guaranteed to get good playing time".

Not that straight forward is it. The window closes for a transfer from outside England in 6 days. He has been with us for 4 or 5 weeks and the deal hasn't been done. He has a choice: take a chance that we might be able to get the deal ratified in 6 days, when it hasn't to date, move to a club who can get the deal done today/tomorrow or head back to Madrid.

He wants to play, so I have absolutely no problem with him heading elsewhere - the concern is, if we have to get players out first then we are going to be doing all or any business just in England between the 5th and 16th as I don't see any of our deadwood moving this week. Only exception could be McNulty to Scotland if a club are still willing to take him.

We can’t even promise we’ll sign him never mind play him. The EFL are refusing to allow us to sign him.
