Appalling shout on Patterson. When I was watching the recent game, every time he came into shot I was wondering who the overweight player was.

+1 on the Patterson shout. He is dreadful.

Good work by linkenholtroyal for getting HNA to unanimously agree on something.

Do Paterson's stats flatter to deceive then? Pretty decent record for a guy who predominately plays in midfield.

Patterson - good grief! Fat and slow.

If we're into naming randoms, Brereton from Blackburn has played very well against us twice in a row at the Mad House. No idea what contract he's on etc but if we're looking for a left wing/inside forward I'd take him over Harris.

Quite like Brereton - can't quite believe he is only 21. Signed for 7m quid too. His contract runs out summer 2022, so would imagine he would be out of our price range if we stay down.

I think he looks half decent. Not really done enough to justify the price tag yet. But plenty of time in the future. Would be good to look at if he isnt going to re-sign there

One of those players who seems to have been around for ages but is only 21! Remember going to the City Ground a back in 2017 and he was a regular for Forest then

Think people are being slightly harsh on Paterson, isn't a great footballer but is effective at what he does, important part of Cardiff's promotion winning team and played a fair amount of football last year under Harris. Hasn't been great this season and wouldn't take him here albeit but wouldn't say he's dreadful or L2 level etc

linkenholtroyal I would prefer Callum Patterson (not being played as a striker) he is a great utility player with strength who can play everywhere but CB if we are going to raid Wednesday that would be who I would sign. But from what I have seen of Harris he is a strong pacey winger crossing is a bit meh and would have to improve but could be useful as a king of bulldozer mode with Meite and Joao if chasing the win.

Expected Paterson to be older

Decent goals record and as you say a good utility option. Not much for assists. Bit of a limited looking player and I don't really think we need utility.

Would he be free though?

No goals this season, but has only started 25 games and has 3 assists. Last season played most games and got 3 goals, 4 assists. Not a standout record for a winger by any means but not awful.

Ovie Ejaria

20/21 Played 29 - 2 goals - 5 assists

19/20 Played 36 - 3 goals - 5 assists

Yes. Also not a stand out record and also not awful. But Ejaria should certainly be doing better, and we'd want Harris to do better.

Obviously the flaws with Harris would be different to Ejaria.

Did you deliberately cut the bit where I said he doesn't have enough good days?

Also, free would be a lot cheaper than Ejaria was. Therefore, similar performance = better value.

Also Ejaria is not a natural winger so you can't compare the two players.

And Ejaria just does so many great things that I really don’t care about these stats ! No idea what sort of player Harris is but I doubt he has the elegance and inventiveness of Ejaria, I want players who entertain me !

Harris looks more of an out and out winger, pushing the ball past the fullback and running. He is different to what we have. Not sure he's good enough to displace any starters but could offer something different off the bench.

I’d like to see what Onen and Camara have to offer....

I'm not sure about Kadeem.

His name sounds too much like redeem, which suggests to me he'll make errors.

I hope the club take note.

If he was 23/24 then absolutely worth a punt, but he’s 27 approaching the peak of his career and hasn’t exactly proven he is consistently of championship ability. Hard pass.

That would have applied to Joao when we signed him.

looking at whoscored, he seems to have played quite a few different positions, inc a spell at RWB.

Would rather take a promising L1/L2 player.
