Snowflake Royal
YorkshireRoyal99 So with Rafael officially gone, hopefully that frees up room to bring somebody in. Brandon Mason at LB who we have had on trial would be a decent start ahead of our game this week or maybe even tying Carroll down if he accepts our offer as well.

It's ironic that our big spending spree a few summers ago (Rafael, Joao, Puscas, Ejaria) has seen 3 of the 4 either leave or reported to leave, with the exception of Joao. The definition of not worked.

Where is Ejaria reported to leave?

I don't know the exact report as it was before the January window even started. Doubt it was anything, it was just something that was reported and probably wasn't even a credible source anyway as I haven't seen anything recently.

A bit harsh. Not a bad keeper overall. Decent bloke. He has probably taken a wage cut too.

Been a brilliant keeper for us. Only issue was the salary.
I only hope Southwood has a good backup....although he has been looking a bit error prone recently.

Yeah he was a good signing Rafael, generally did well for us. Form certainly dropped this year, and was the right time to hand over to Southwood. Suspect he'd have been happily kept on til the end of this year if it wasn't for the finances. Good luck to him

Indeed. After the heroics of Martínez we had a pretty big whole to fill when he left. And we all know how Virginia turned out. He did a job for us. Southwood will only get better.

Cabral - good signing. Great first season, ok second, poor third. Solid if not brilliant keeper.

Wages tolerable for first season performance, but way too high for second and third.

Leaving at the right time, thanks for the contribution and absolutely no hard feelings.

Would say that he was very good last season, up until he threw one in the net at Coventry, started to go a bit downhill from there. That was the game that ended our run at the beginning of the season, IIRC.

Seem to recall him getting nowhere near long shots from quite early on.

Can't say I can before that Cov game.

30 clean sheets in 95 Championship games is a pretty decent record, IMO.

121 goals conceded on the other hand isn't so great, although that is slightly skewed by this season's stats of 16 in 6 games. 105 in 89 (not including this season), isn't too bad.

That's a good £20-25k off the wages, maybe we could put that towards a new contract for Carroll?

Good keeper though. That triple save vs Fulham was ridiculous

The game against Kidderminster summed him up. One good save followed by two mistakes.
Sure he might be a lovely bloke but a pretty useless keeper

That and if it means we can renew the contracts of Holmes and Rinomhota then that would be excellent as well.

Wonder if we've considered bringing back Dorsett? Been a regular at Rochdale. Esp now the Moore saga has happened.

Be cheering on the Comoros tonight. Hopefully get Baba and Yiadom on the next plane back and in time for at least the game on 29th if not 22nd.

It could happen, any other season I'd wish Ghana well but we are well and truly exposed without Rahman and Yiadom right now.

Can we bring him back? With some loans I believe you can't.

Absolutely should be a consideration if we can.

I guess the decision would be, is it better to have him for 2-3 games whilst others recover (how long for Dann, Morro getting close) at the cost of him losing out on game time for the rest of the season.

We have to hope that Ghana do get eliminated really. The only other solution is that we can sign Brandon Mason on a free transfer and hopefully have a couple of CB's return to the team ahead of tomorrow so that Holmes can shift to RB temporarily.
