blythspartan I’ll be shocked if anyone wants him tbh. We should also look at sending back Baba to Chelsea and offloading Sarr. A four year contract to another injury prone player who jumps like he is 5ft and has no positional sense whatsoever.

Give Sarr a chance FFS. He will be an excellent player for us.

Paul thinks Moore would walk into any Championship XI, so I wouldn’t worry about his opinion on defenders.

One of the most overrated players in recent seasons, slows the game down far too much to the point where I actually think he’s a really boring player to watch. 1-2 decent games a season is far to inconsistent.

Won’t be missed

Think he’s a player that depends on what’s going on around him. Can’t take the game by the scruff of the neck. All the talk about him filling “Swift’s void” - was never going to happen as he can’t be the main man

Did OK for the first 4/5 months under Paunovic (I.e. when the team was performing), but think he’s been underwhelming on the whole. Been a waste of time for 18 months now

There has to be a manager/coach out there who believes that he can get more out of Ejaria than those at Liverpool, Rangers and Reading have so far been able to do?
The Ejaria that can sparkle for 5 minutes out of 90, surely a coach somewhere can get him up to 10 minutes?

On the other hand is he a lost cause like Ravel Morrison and doubtless many others who fail to fully realise their potential despite the best of coaching?

Yeah I don't doubt someone will believe they can get something out of Ejaria, I just don't think he's particularly well suited to the Championship really, or even the British game.

He plays the game at a relatively slow pace, so might be more suited to a league abroad.

He was genuinely good to very good for two seasons with us. And pretty good with his initial loan

I think people let the admittedly poor 18 months cloud their judgement a little

Those managerial legends Jose Gomes and Pauno got some decent performances out of him consistently so it’s hardly beyond the realms of reality a decent coach would back themselves to do the same

Not sure he could cope with living abroad, he seems to have trouble enough getting to Reading from London.

One poster who has always disliked him has droned on and on and it has led many others to act like his last 18 months represents the whole of his time here.

It is time for him to move on because he is wasting his career with his attitude since his Covid issues.

18 months is a long time to be useless tbh. If I was rubbish at my job for 18 months I’d be fired.

I agree that he has had some good games for us especially when he was first on loan. Also, if he was the complete package he would be in the Premiership. You’re right about it being time for him to move on and hopefully someone will be willing to take a punt on him.

These billy big bollox players from PL clubs can go one of many ways.

1) Be pretty anonymous but eventually get their head down and prove their worth especially when their contract is up eg Swift.

2) Do well for us straight away .. Super Daz?

3) Arrogantly think they're too good for this league and believe they have nothing to learn or prove here... Ejaria.

Probably more ways and examples, just a conversation starter.

Darren Caskey? Wouldn’t it be great to have him back at his peak? Best dead ball specialist I think Reading have ever had.

And that’s definitely what Ejaria thinks is it?

Swift was decent when he first came, major reason Stams side made the play offs. Then just generally either brilliant or shite for the next 5 years depending on his mood

Nothing is definite mate just starting discussion. Just a guess re: Ejaria.

Swift: just going by the mood here. I and perhaps you thought Swift was decent from day one but I distinctly remember people knocking him for ages while I was one of the few saying he was class, and people attacking me for it. Definitely did not hit the ground running and picked up much more for all to see on and off and especially towards the end.

I agree there will be better examples though - who do you reckon would fit that better?

I wouldn't say Ejaria would ever think he's too good for this league, I think he's just a luxury player. Talented player, but can seem very casual and just seems to not impact games to the levels you'd think there would be.

Questions of his attitude, but I suppose we can't really comment on it because we don't know. Either way, think it's nearly unanimous now that the agreement is to part ways.

morganb Reading have told midfielder Ovie Ejaria that he can leave the club this month. (Alan Nixon on Twitter)

https://twitter.com/RFCLatest/status/16 ... zEBIg&s=19

Thoughts?

Probably a good move for the player and the team. Wonder what replacement (if any) we can get?

(Has been mentioned on a couple of other threads but felt deserves a separate one)

Technically gifted but a lazy fecker. He's been here two years too many.
