Hound Be quite funny if that is true

It would honestly sent 80% of the Twitter fanbase into complete outrage.

On Strings
morganb Sat outside in the garden on my phone and noticed the following on Twitter (from the supposed ITK who said Wilder was possibly signing last Tuesday):

https://twitter.com/OliB_RFC/status/1665718080427765760

It’s us now, not him

Because other managers are still interested and somehow Bowen has decided there could now be a better option supposedly

If that's true, Wilder should say f**k you then.

If that's true then he probably already has said that to us.

Well Bowen & Jones are both Welsh...

Wouldn't be the first time Bowen has been accused of nepotism.

Fair enough if Bowen wants to take his time. I want to trust him but the last time he appointed a manager it was himself. Tbf he did prove to be the best out of a bunch of rubbish managers we’ve had in recent years.

I’m not sure why the club sent out that teasing tweet last week if an appointment wasn’t imminent. I guess it was an innocent tweet which the fans on Twitter misinterpreted.

I just hope we don’t try to be too clever about it and end up appointing someone out of desperation a week before the season starts. Getting Wilder in and doing it early would really restore my confidence back in the club. Years of shooting ourselves in the foot has made me apprehensive about our ability to make GOOD decisions.

Any hold up will be down to the owner.

I've kind of backed the owner but if we lose out on Wilder he really does need f*ck off and sell up rather than watch the club fall further down the sh+t pipe to his utter incompetence like his other 2 clubs. We will never get a better opportunity to stop the rot than this.

Wilder has a choice as to whether to come or not. May have other options open to him.

I hate the prick, but this has a pretty big whiff of unfounded guesswork.

You literally cannot know this and that Wilder is the absolute answer.

Bowen may have doubts as talks have shown that to get him we have to abandon large parts of the strategic plan he is building - the best available manager is not always the best fit.

If Wilder comes, it will be because all parties see it as a good fit. If he doesn't, it means one or both sides have reservations that can often only solidify through talks.

If the owner costs us a good appointment we need to protest to get him to sell up

Let's see if we can get through the next 24 hours with nobody posting any more on any manager speculation unless it is absolute fact backed up with media sources.

Yep me too. Spurs have done it within 48 hours so it can be done much quicker.

Spurs have been searching for a manager since the end of March, they have just appointed probably their fourth choice.

I never know what fans think this will achieve - especially Reading fans who are about as meek as it can possibly get. Rememember the last protest? A pathetic 50 people turned up with a shite banner before a home game which they attended.

The owner is a Chinese billionaire (or at least many hundreds of millions). He probably spends a fraction of his time in Reading and probably rarely thinks of the club. You really think he cares or would even know that fans on twatter and HNA?, or at the ground are disgruntled. Especially as season ticket sales have somehow gone UP which still mystifies me.

There's not a hope in hell I will renew until the manager is appointed and it's one I can get behind - aka Wilder. Until then the club can frankly feck off as I've spent enough time, energy and money over the years to just watch drivel and a lack of ambition.
