TBM I dont see the hype with Shorey - i would quite happily let him go in exchange for Zamora

He's assisted on nearly a third of our goals this season.

We buy a new one - Shorey wont stick around when his contract is up and when we go down we wont get near the money we could should we sell him now.

plenty of time to sell him before we possibly go down next season.

you assume 3 things....

1) we'd be able to get a compareable replacement for him
2) we're going down
3) he wont return when his contract is up (ok this could be likely)

Dont agree with you.
As has been mentioned on this board on many occasions Shorey has had a huge part to play in the goals created. We also have no obvious replacement as Golbourne does not appear to have progressed.
Shorey will go nowhere unless and until a quality replacement is found.

It seems Readings own fans value their players a lot less than managers/supporters of other teams do.

Kevin Doyle says -

[i]"I remember last the summer when people were saying Shorey had arrived at West Ham’s stadium. I texted him and he was at home in bed!â€

I know you do..but there have been plenty of Shorey bashers on here ever since shock horror he was considering moving on.

its hard though,
like a girlfriend dumping you for someone else

you are never going to give it your blessing are you

i can at least entertain the thought of a footballer having ambitions above RFC though

That is a great idea. Zamora is bound to be brilliant at left back.

Or maybe not! IMO we would miss Shorey even more than we missed Sidwell.

Lita criticised Coppell during the interview for giving him so few opportunities, even from the bench, but most particularly for saying that Lita didn't want to play against Spurs. He said that was very wrong of him to say that as all he had said was that if he was going to be leaving he didn't want to be cup-tied. Not the same thing in LL's eyes.

When asked if any clubs had made enquiries he side-stepped the question saying he didn't deal with that stuff himself. In other words "NO" I assume. Not a massive surprise I suppose, and this interview was just a desperate attempt to make sure every club in the land (well, in the Premier League he hopes) is aware that he is available.

Tim Dellor seemed to be suggesting that Lita didn't normally speak to him or to anyone at the BBC. Is that right? What does that stem from?

The fact he has a big mouth and the club try and keep it muzzled?

Lita did alright today. If he wants to go he can go.

Shorey didn't. If anyone is stupid enough to give us money for him, he could go too.

Good grief. He's been playing a lot better in the last month - one poor game and he's worthless. dear oh dear.

Who? Shorey? Have a word!!!!

The boy can't defend!!!!

If west Ham want to give us £5million or something daft he can go. His crossing is the only thing keeping him in this side.

Bizarre. Lita barely touched the ball when he came on - how does that constitute "all right"?

Shorey did no worse than anyone else today, suffering only from not having a constant left-winger in front of him. If he leaves, he will be sorely missed.

He played a part in our goal, he looked alright when he came on. Won a couple of corners, did ok in the 10minutes he was on the pitch. Replacing Kitson who was abysmal today hopefully just a one off.

Shorey going forward would be missed, his left foot whipping them crosses in would be missed. His lack of pace and total inability to defend would not.
