Scarface Why hasn't this been announced ?

Howard was definately at the club yesterday. Perhaps Hammond didn't send everything off in time, hence the FA haven't ratified it yet.

There are a lot of deals that require ratification, I'll anticipate it being announced at some point today....

I think the club have learnt from their mistake of announcing a player is signing before its actually been sealed!

Could be that it's got to do with the fact that we've done it in a way to avoid Harper sell-on clause and this could have raised some complications?

You mean we buy Howard for a knock down price and they get Harper onloan for the season until he is a free agent and then give him a contract?

Shouldn't be. After all, he's our player and all we've done is loan him out. On a seperate issue, we have bought a midfielder from the same club. Neither are one in the same deal.

Welcome Brian Howard?!?!

Still to be confirmed and all that but it seems Howard is going to be here on loan.

Any player that can do this : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynRKgvt37Vc

Is welcome at my club.

And I refuse to contribute to Alivey's thread as it is just ridiculous.

You've got to love the french commentary on that, such a great language.

So here we are over 24 hours after the window closed and still no confirmation from the club on Brian Howard.

It surely can't take this long for the paperwork to be ratified? Or perhaps it does, strikes me as rather odd though.

What a great attacking side. Not sorry to see the back of Sonko on that showing though.

Absolutely. Had forgotten what a liability he was. Are you watching Hull fans?

Brian Howard.

Just to clear things up with everyone, YES he has signed for reading on a 1-year loan contract and YES it hasn't been made a big deal of anywhere yet, and seems to be on the bottom of the pile at the FA HQ of deals to make public. But it has indeed happened in a switch for Harper.

BBC transfers list reporting it as a loan.

Apparently that is the buy-out (or whatever it is called nowadays) clause in the loan contract either during the january or next summer transfer window. However im not 100% on this though because i also heard that the clause included Sheffield had to buy Harper if Howard was to be bought, which surely would cancel out the transfer fee for Howard? But god knows, either way he is here for the rest of the season.
