YES PLEASE! Takes a mean penalty and scored loads of goals while at Doncaster last season. If I remember correctly he was quite a handful when Donnie played us during the second half of the season.

Able to hold up balls due to his size too. Should be able to work well with Gyifi IMO. Don't think he is really needed at Sheffield Utd so maybe they will let him go for a lesser price (1- 1.5 mil?)

I reckon work is being done to bring Andy Griffin to the club currently.

Anything after that is that we have to get players off of payroll before we can get players in

The club have already established that they're not going to fork out a 6 figure sum for Kingfisherwilly (despite it being value for money)and, tbh, central defence is probably our key position to cover after right back so spending x on another striker is just not going to happen.

Whether the loan market gives us any more flexibility remains to be seen.....

We will not spend the money for a player like this.

Sure - we spent 2mil on Mills, but that was after selling 10+Mill of players.

What are we selling this year of note? Probably nothing.

Zurab would be a better value buy, and he is only 6 figures. Why waste all that money when we have Shane LoLong? he is going to be as good as Doyle remember.

I will stick my neck out and say if we got Billy Sharp, he would score 20+ goals in our team and we would be promoted next season.

I don't think that's too unreasonable a comment to make

I would however be concerned that he may not settle down here, hasn't he predominantly played for Yorkshire clubs?

You would not be far off the mark there. Very fair comment to make.

But I still do not think the club will make the investment.

reports are suggesting he's available for £600,000 even more so now they've just signed bogdanovic.

£600,000 = Bargain

I think its a bit far fetched. Of course it could happen, but if he was that good surely he would have been able to score regularly for Sheff United. He's scored 8 goals in three years at sheff united, yet apparently he's going to turn into Roney and steer us to promotion next season?
There's probably a few chuckling sheff utd fans reading this.

Tbf to Sharp I think a lot of his strugles at Utd have been down to Blackwell and their hoofball.

Hasn't worked for him there granted - I just like what I've seen of him and think that he would suit the way we play perfectly. A misfit for one club can easily be a hit elsewhere.
