Club Car Park

by Royalee » 13 Nov 2006 09:31

Absolute disgrace yesterday, took best part of an hour to get out after the game and absolutely nobody was moving. I'm told Thames Valley Police were the cause of this by screwing up the lights, but somebody please sort it out, it was a joke.

Was in Jazz Cafe, saw the first half of the Arsenal game and then got to chat with Murts on the way back to the car. In the car and drove straight out ... don't you just love it when a plan comes together :D

on another note if RFC cant secure enough parking then maybe they should be leaning on the council w@nkers who send a fleet of traffic wardens down to the A33 every time we have a game on.
Its is totally out of order and happens as regularly as clockwork now, hasn't affected me but of there's one thing that winds me up its this sort of sneaky behaviour.
Put some clear signs up telling people not to park anywhere, paint double reds on the road but don't just run around for 90 minutes slapping tickets on cars like the cowards you without warning people properly before hand.

I'm sure all the money collected on match day is going to a good cause ;)

I was back home in Woodley 20mins after final whistle. Likewise, legged it out of Y23.

Do people really need telling not to park on a kerb or dual-carriageway? I think this information is available to all drivers in the form of a booklet called "The Highway Code"

I know it is frustrating to get ticketed, but the A33 is an urban clearway, and there are signs on it telling you that. There are also signs that say you can't park on the verges. You can't be surprised, therefore, if you get ticketed. The P&R at FW works well. It is filling up a bit at the moment, but there does seem to be a bit of spare capacity yet to be utilised.

We didn't get home until gone 6.00pm. We thought it was disgraceful. Then we remembered we went into the hotel for a few drinks after the game.

The car park is the cause of the amount of people leaving early I reckon......both are disgraceful.

With my disgusted mode on, I was disgusted with the bus that left early nearly mowing down the people leaving the stadium. The fact it was leaving at all was bad enough but the speed it left was just dangerous.

Agreed. I assume you mean the bus on the hill at Hurst Way leaving via the Costco roundabout. A steward or someone from the police was calling out for people to get out of the way while the roadway was packed with pedestrians.

once again the club care not one iota about the safety of fans outside the stadium, if the extensions go ahead then it MUST be in conjunction with better access on the roads to the stadium, buses need to leave on the access slip, with a loading section between them and the out lane for cars, this way cars can leave on the current outside lane, at least on the B&Q slope, and pedestrians can get onto the buses without crossing traffic..

That was the one, tough if you happened to be hard of hearing or deaf, you'd of been mowed down by the bus.
