Rumour - Taiwo

by Big Foot » 23 Jan 2009 10:55

Just spoken to a customer at work who is friends with the young lad Taiwo from Dag & Red who scored against Reading in the league cup earlier this season.

Says we made a bid for him in August which Dagenham rejected but Taiwo's become frustrated with the club since then and is looking to leave this January.

From what I remember of the game that night he dominated against Harper and banged in a good left footed strike from the edge of the area, if we can get him on the cheap (i.e. under £100k) I think he'd be good cover for the run-in.

....dominated against Harper...how many times have we heard that - so he's as good as most other central midfielders in Championship then! Harper should not be the benchmark...although the bench is the right place for him!

Name: Solomon Taiwo
Nationality: English
Date of Birth: 29/04/1985
Height: 6' 1" (185cm)
Weight: 13st 2lbs (83.54kg)
Previous
Clubs: Bromley, Windsor & Eton
Position: Midfielder

Solomon joined the Daggers in November 2007 from Sutton United initially on trial then signing a two-year contract.

His first two league starts in a Daggers shirt were unsuccessful as he received red cars in both.

A former Millwall academy player he has also had spells with Charlton, Maidenhead, Bromley and Weymouth and he has also played in the USA.

The midfielder's main asset is his ability to pick out forwards and set them up for chances on goal.

Well, I suppose providing players with red cars is one way of rewarding them.
Can't understand why this would be thought of as "unsuccessful" though.
