Losing 1-0 at home to minnows Dimano Moscow isn't a great way to win the fans over Tony

Dynamo's greatest achievement in Europe to this day was in the 1972 UEFA Cup Winners Cup. They got to the final at the Nou Camp in Barcelona where they lost to Scottish side Rangers 3-2.

minnows Dynamo Moscow

Erm.

Really?

Not the greatest team in Europe but certainly not minnows.

Kerzakhov's a decent player, btw.

Kerzakhow was pretty superb yesterday-

also helps that the Russian league is a good dozen or so games old, players were fresher

Dynamo are by no means minnows. They are a far better side than Celtic IMO.

I'd say that they're a good goal better, on any given day.

Dinamo are by no means minnows, the result is only mildy surprising because celtic are at home. Dinamo have some good players and the russian teams aren't to be underestimated.

Plus the Russian league started 15 games ago so there're going to have a fitness advantage.

The odds are they have a talent advantage too.

Still, 0-1 is still better than FSB McGhee's first game in charge of Aberdeen, losing 1-5 at home to Sigma Olomoucs.

What can I say? Celtic and Rangers would both be relegated from the Prem within 10 years if they joined it. The only reason I think it might take that long is because there are so many teams of a mediocre nature there. Or willing to totally self distruct like Newcastle.

Poor fishing Ian, only a fool with say that with a straight face. If blackburn, fulham, bolton, etc can sustain prem status with their infrastructure and gates of 20k, what are the likes of rangers and celtic with 50k and 55k and far more european success going to do? They'd be pushing top 4 at the very least. ReLOLegated

Attendence really kept Newcastle up didn't it.

medium fish in a tiny pond. there is no way they could sustain themselves in the Prem, they're reliant on the money and support from being totally dominant in the SPL and they would be struggling to qualify for Europe in the first few seasons. They certainly wouldn't make the champions League more than once.
