Exeter City FC It is with great sadness that Exeter City Football Club have to confirm the news that Adam Stansfield passed away this evening.

Our thoughts are with his wife, family and friends at this time.


Exeter City fan, born 15 minutes up the road. Died after a short battle with cancer.

RIP Adam. Helped Hereford win the play off final in 2005-06.

That is tragic. Only diagnosed in April, I think, so it must have been particularly aggressive form of cancer - either that or he ignored the symptons for ages.

Not that uncommon, only the fact he's a pro footballer do we hear about it.
