Car Parking @ Wembley

by Mr Angry » 18 May 2011 09:02

In case anyone is thinking of driving to, and parking at Wembley, or in organising an independent coach/mini-bus to get there, here are the parking details from the Stadium themselves.

Only 471 car parking spaces and they're charging £27.75. :o

Not recommended to drive there. There are some local factories that do car parking but most are quite a walk away and they charge about £10 minimum.

I've always found a great way to get to Wembley is to drive to Wycombe and get the Chiltern Line trains in direct to Wembley Stadium stations. Lots of them and you miss out the whole business of going via London.

I go to a few England games and to be honest the public transport to and from Wembley is pretty good. It seems to take less than an hour to clear after final whistle so what I do is pop into a curry house for a madras.
By the time I'm finshed I just walk onto a tube train and find a seat.

Yep - driving really is the worst option to get there.

And the atmosphere and banter on trains and tubes is half of the Wembley experience.

Not with Swansea fans it won't be!

Different trains, I bet - and the atmosphere is usually superb on the trains - never seen it kick off.

And no Swansea fans will come in on the Chiltern Line from Wycombe, too.

Oh yeah that's true - I was thinking of getting on at Reading with a load of Swansea already on it.

There'll almost certainly have a plan where trains from Swansea don't stop at 'Ding.

And probably different tube lines allocated for each set of supporter from Central London.

But I honestly can't recommend the Wycombe option enough - I always do that one.

Also drive to Uxbridge and get the Metropolitan Line to Wembley Park is another option - good because the majority at Wembley Park want trains into London, not out of it.

If you do want to drive these two services are very good:-

My old man uses them for the rugby at Twickers and loves them. Never had any probs and Twickenham with 80,000+ is almost as bad as Wembley!

We drove to that NFL game - took us about 3hours, had to ditch the car miles away due to traffic and walk the rest. Deffo get the train.

Looks good to me. Trains on the 30th are every 1/2 hour from Wycombe, and it only takes 33 minutes to Wembley.

Yep - I can't emphasise it enough how good a way in and out that is. Wembley Stadium station is even at the correct end of Wembley for the Royals end.

Agreed - the Chiltern Line is really easy although I've tended to get on at Beaconsfield or Gerrards Cross from where its just a 20 minute journey. There's loads of parking, particularly at Beaconsfield Station.

Anyone who even contemplates driving to Wembley needs their head examined.
