Yes, my reading of where they're going now is not trying to get off but in trying to minimise the sentence.

Lester Piggott went down for a similar offence. Don't think it matters how famous you are if you start fcuking over the Inland Revenue.

i would imagine it would be pretty difficult to coach, scout, receive bungs from a 6x6 cell.

I guess what I actually meant was, will he be sacked instead of resign, or will he be temporarily replaced, but guaranteed a job when comes out (pretty unbelievably unlikely unless he' in for less than a year, even then...)?

"You talk to anybody at the football club. I don't write. I couldn't even fill a team sheet in."

Only been a football manager for 29 years though Harry...

I would just like to point out, to anyone who wants to evade tax, the very last person you should tell is your accountant. An accountant is certified to a professional body, much like a solicitor or doctor, and would lose their career if they assisted you. It would be like expecting your GP to prescribe a daily heroin fix.

An accountant will of course help you to legally minimise your tax liability...but you do have to tell them exactly what you have, and they advise where and when it is advantageous from a tax perspective for your assets to reside.

'arry, undoubtedly knows this. Why didn't he tell the accountant that "runs his life" about this money....there can be no other explanation than he didn't want the tax man to know.

'arry Yes but I couldn't tell my accountant because I can't talk . Ask anyone. In 29 years I've never said a word to anyone in football. Ask anyone, I gurgle ike a baby. Ask anyone at Tottenham, go on just ask em

Not if said accountant was taking a cut from the bungs.

It's great timing by HMRC having this trial fixed for the end of January. I bet it helps to encourage honesty in this year's tax returns.

Of course. In this case I don't think it is contested that 'arry had not told his accountant about this account. He 'fessed up after he had been arrested, after his brief told him how deep the shit he is in....

BTW, anyone who employs a crooked accountant for their affairs is frankly a fool. Surely the very least that you expect from someone managing your money is that they are honest...

If he had been, then the police would have arrested him; the way 'Arry has been slagging him off, I seriously doubt that he wouldn't have grassed up his accountant if he was directly involved.

Unless the accountant knows where the bigger bones are buried

Bet these aren't the only accounts Harry has...

Had completely forgotten about that! Did he use his accent as a defence too?

Mr A, thanks for the details provided. It doesn't sound good for him does it!
